Should have thought about that before they stopped the flights and closed the borders! Or maybe you already left for one of the two countries mentioned. Why then have a go at Thailand? And last, what teflon are you babbling about?

for a long standing member to ask the question very strange
and in case you have not been paying attention over the last few weeks and longer since the Chinese got stuck  such a lot of posts re visa extensions.

i think the term babbling is more associated to your ignorance

Not everybody have a problem. Only the forever wining TVF-members. If tourist and visit Thailand during an outbreak, then you shall go home immediately and not try to stay until too late. That is called creating problems for yourself.

As a person living in Thailand on tourist visas, you are bound to have problem anyway. That is like it is supposed to be.

Everybody else that stays in Thailand long time should do that on yearly extensions. Then no problem to renew.

Regarding the pollution, they actually have a problem in many areas, but only the ones not thinking stays there or settle there at the moment. There are other places with no problems in the same country.

Again with assumptions  & the ignorance !

Many people found themselves stuck through no fault of their own.
Airlines globally cancelling flights
Governments arranging repatriation flights
Apart from the Chinese and since the Chinese shutdown in Jan/Feb

One has to ask what the hell Thailand was thinking

&  which internet starved hamlet have you been hiding in to not get any of this
maybe dont drink and post or up the meds you seem to be touching that senility stage
and if thats the case dont go out that virus kills folk of your advanced latter years

Oh, I am 49 and very well and healthy. No problem with senility. Not on any meds either. Drinking a bit because I enjoy, but not today. So, wrong at all points.

I am very well aware of the situation. Have been long time to see the signs. Signs that everyone could see, if they just opened their eyes. When a virus pandemic breaks out, you cancel all your holidays and return home. If you were preparing to travel you do not go on a forum and get advice how to do, you stay put at home and cancel your trip. See, nobody have to get stuck, it´s totally their own fault, based on stupid decisions.

Thailand is trying to cope with the virus as well as all other countries do. The question you should ask instead, is what people travelling are thinking?

Everybody's circumstances are different. Making broad generalisations about what people should or shouldn't do (or have done) is pointless and just leads to flames.

Some people in this forum have been using the visa exempt system for many years, because it suits them to do so. If the Thai government accepts it, and they do, then there is no reason for others to criticise.

Why people decided to remain in Thailand when they had the option to return to their country of origin is entirely their own business.

If only people could share information here without people constantly passing judgement on others in the forum...

Yep, I know. Not after that. I am out to voice my opinion, instead of being a follower of Barbie. Are your real name Ken, by any chance?

Well you certainly sound like an aged old whiner thats gone a bit vinegary

I agreed when Thailand done a clear out got rid of a lot of dead beats alcoholics and so on.

BUT.. then it just kept going keep the 40k in the bank and next the medical insurance fiasco hitting a lot of folk below the belt some old timers married and so forth who will never get insured after a certain age.

or with pre existing conditions not fair

and for a guy who is only 49 to be standing on his soap box give us a  break with the im better than thou B..S
Like trump boris et al Thailand's leading light has let that ship sail.
The numbers are still low and that amazing especially when you consider how hands on some places  are. i think its the warm climate that saves us
Most Thais i deal with are not xenophobic so if im slagging of Trump Boris I can take a poke at the odd general or to Ive been here long enough to have earned that badge.

& while Thailand still touts the ed visa or self defense visas and the Elite <deleted> any one dodging about on TV METV etc thats their deal its their right.

And pre aged Victor Meldrews can just learn to  live with the country that they have chosen policies
or leave IF YOU CAN

No flames intended take a drink you enjoy it chill thats exactly what im doing coz we aint got no control over any of this
cheers
