PHUKET: Patong Municipality’s COVID-19 street cleanse and door-to-door house check is in full swing, with trucks dousing the main streets with disinfectant and teams of officers walking from house to house to check the occupants for any signs of the disease.

The Post Office and other main offices have also undergone a thorough cleanse, and all branches in Patong of 7-Eleven, Family Mart, ‘Mini’ Big C and SuperCheap stores as well as Makro and the Central Food Hall are now closed from 7pm to 5am each night until April 30 to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Local officials and volunteers first targetted the Baan Mon community, then moved on to Baan Nanai to check people there, Patong Mayor Chalermluck Kebsup explained to The Phuket News.

What a waste of resources.

The virus doesn't fly or jump around to all these locations.

They should simply disinfect door handles, railings and all te places people touch with their hands. Most people wear socks and shoes so never come in contact with the road.

And hardly survives three to five days on any surface.

Strict cordoning off for about seven days.

Exceptions only for specialists in full gear.

And few will stick their toes in the nose.

Virus does not penetrate intact skin.

The virus spreads from moisture droplets from the lungs via the nose and mouth. The virus has a high degree of persistence after leaving the body.
And and all surfaces where carriers have been need to be disinfected.

You go home you touch your shoes with your hands ... then hands on face or other objects that later connect to your mouth later and bingo your infected and a carrier!

And the eyes? (what I remember having read).

Strictly you should also wear protective glasses...
