I think we need to get the terminology right.  It's basically a plan to lockout people from entering or leaving Pattaya, which seems sensible.  There is no proper lockdown within Pattaya, other than the measures already imposed.

It is copying the actions of some of the other Amphoes, but I don't know if it is sensible or the best solution. Blocking those on the other side of the highway from getting to supermarkets, banks, their regular pharmacies etc is serious. I can see sense preventing people traveling to other provinces.... but that could be effective on the periphery rather than around the City. I have not heard of this approach in other countries, have you?
