Italian man, 83, latest confirmed COVID-19 case in Phuket, total moves to 193

PHUKET: The Phuket Communicable Disease Committee today (Apr 21) announced one new confirmed case of a person infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus, an Italian man who previously had visited risk areas in Patong.

 

Today’s update brings the total number of people in Phuket infected with the disease since the outbreak began to 193.

 

According to the report released this morning, so far people 3,038 have been put under observation for possible infection of the virus.

Seventeen people had high risk exposure to this patient, so how do they know he didn't get of one of the 17

Nonsense. The same kind of information has been posted time and time again with Thai being the ones being infected.

Still the dirty farangs fault ! 55 

Interesting. The covid catches just the dirty farangs. Good luck for Thailand all will be gone for years and the economy can rock with 40 baht soup stalls and fish markets. Oh, and buffaloes (not sick ones anymore, though).

 

How did the 81-year old Italian man get into Thailand when everything is locked down and no incoming flights are available? I met a sweet old lady from Italy in my condo the other day. But unlike Tom (truck driver), Dick (plumber), and Harry (brick layer), the lady had a mask and was maintaining social distancing. Assuming he is here for a longtime, I wonder why he went to Patong area? Did he go there looking for a bride at his old age or to meet Tom, Dick and Harry for drinking beer. Not sure he got infected from a Thai would be bride or from Tom, DIck, Harry from his country. So many questions not answered in the reports.
