The governor of Krabi in the south of Thailand has thanked foreigners stranded on Phi Phi Island who praised the Thais for their humanitarian response during the coronavirus pandemic.

Facebook posts had been made praising the Thais for handing out free masks, gels, tests, treatment and meals and drinks to anyone infected.

Governor Mom Luang Kittibodee Prawit said well done for saying it like it is.

The message was clear - Krabi and Thailand had done a great job and foreigners had been looked after superbly.

Two weeks ago, an article was posted declaring that phi phi residents had to be convinced by the Krabi government to allow foreigners to stay on the island as they were the source of covid infections. Now they say they love them? Sounds like a load to me.
