Deputy Interior Minister Nipon Bunyamanee on Sunday (May 3) paid a visit to a food bank at Wat Sai Ngam in Songkhla province to encourage government officials, volunteers and monks there who are helping cushion the toll of Covid-19 on the local community.

He also offered alms and chicken to monks who are cooking meals for people suffering the impact of the pandemic and lockdown.

“Monks in Songkhla province organised the food bank when the Covid-19 outbreak emerged,” he said. “This shows that monks are concerned about people who are facing difficulties in their daily life.”

"We invite people to help those who are suffering during the pandemic because, [kindness towards others] is a part of Thailand culture and there are still many Thais who are facing difficulties."

How many Truck Loads of food did he take to help the Food Bank out ?  My guess would be he gave them nothing in return for a good Publicity Stunt.   Taking 'food for the Monks' is all very well but it's the people the Monks are feeding that need it more !

The army dropped off a 5kg bag of rice 1st of the month. All the households in Hat Yai Nai, and I can only assume Hat Yai, also got. We've also had food distributions to those willing to queue most weeks within our thesaban. The queue last weekend was very long, they started waiting in line, or leaving their shoes to mark their spot, from about 6:30. They started handing out food around 9am and the queue was gone by about 11am.

Im feeling sick with disgust. Where, where are the Thai multi, multi, multi billionaires and their 'Thai Spirit'.

None to be seen.

All at home in their mansions, or other mansions on resort islands and hilltop mountain compounds having their staff go out and get them what they need while their own people starve and are evicted out of their miserable tiny rooms. Have personally had about 20 people tell me they have no way to pay the rent far away from their home tambons and no way to pay.

Had one person tell me they were living on 3 spoonfuls of honey a day and water from the tap!
