Recommended Indian restaurants.

Featured Replies

I fancy a change from Haveli in Bangrak.

Can anyone recommend any other indian restaurants for their food. Also tried Noori in Chaweng last year.

Mrs Balbir's on Suk 13/1 is outstanding. Never thought I would say this but I think it's even better than any ruby I've been in in the UK.

This is the Samui forum, don't think OP fancies a drive to Bangkok for food.

Bangrak is a district in Bangkok, is it not?

No idea...my comment was not serious that a BKK restaurant would deliver to Samui

Yes it is. It is also a village on Koh Samui

I have not eaten there but Deevali has been recommended to me by friends. (One of them is an Indian.)

This is the new 'posh' Indian restaurant in Bangrak (Koh Samui) It is part of a chain of restaurants based in Phuket.

I also like Akbar in Choengmon. He delivers locally.

And a district on the island Samui, that's why the OP posted in "Forum Home > Thailand Local Forums > Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao > Recommended Indian restaurants"...????

Samui doesn't have districts, sunshine, so get your facts right before correcting others, or you just make yourself look even more stupid ????

I really enjoyed the one in Fisherman's Village. Whatever it's called.

Thanks for your kind reply, but Please check facts first...????

Here are some link examples: "Districts of Koh Samui" – where you will find Bang Rak mentioned, even it's part of Bo Phut district – and "Koh Samui Map and Koh Samui Districts".

From Wikipedia, Koh Samui has 7 districts...

Administration[edit]

Ko Samui is an amphoe (district) of Surat Thani Province, divided into seven sub-districts (tambons) and 39 administrative villages (mubans). The entire island is one city municipality (thesaban nakhon). The district covers the island, as well as the Ang Thong archipelago and some other small islands nearby.

No. Name Thai Villages Pop.[18]
1. Ang Thong อ่างทอง 6 13,043
2. Lipa Noi ลิปะน้อย 5 5,432
3. Taling Ngam ตลิ่งงาม 5 6,138
4. Na Mueang หน้าเมือง 5 5,339
5. Maret มะเร็ต 6 9,051
6. Bo Phut บ่อผุด 6 19,014
7. Mae Nam แม่น้ำ 6 9,248
   Map of Tambon

Originally, the district included all of the islands of Surat Thani Province. The islands Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao were split off as the minor district (king amphoe) Ko Pha-ngan effective 1 October 1970.[19] In 1980, administrative village number seven of Ang Thong Sub-district covering the islands Ko Chueak, Ko Nok Phao, and Ko Rikan was reassigned to Don Sak District,[20] where it now forms village number 11.

I went to try it once just after it opened. Walked in, no one there. No customers, no staff. Waited around for five minutes, then left.

Every time I have driven past and looked in there, it has always been empty. Even before the COVID outbreak.

Went to Live India on Lamai Beach Road several times with some Indian friends who live on Samui and enjoyed the food there.
