Sunbelt Asia United v's BSL Youth

Saturday 21 April

Kick-off 16.30

Now that the Songkran festivities have concluded, it's time for us to regroup and focus on our next league fixture. BSL still have no points, so for our own reputation lets' hope it remains that way come teatime on Saturday. Last time we met we scraped a 2-1 victory. We totally underestimated them and we didn't pay them the respect they deserved. Fortunately we did just about enough to win. It appears that several of our players are only up for a fight when we play the big guns. If that's the case we should treat every game like we are playing the Londoner.

So now we will have to start rounding players up. Chris Sweden is back from Oz should be available to play. As for the Thais, we'll probably have the usual 5 or 6 with a couple posted missing. I know Moo is doing his monk thing and won't be able to play in goal. Gonzague can you play on Saturday? If not perhaps we could ask Berete. Also we need to find out what's happening with Emilio, Bukhari and Kaka.

p.s This is a home fixture so someone please remember to bring some footballs.

I'm itching to play after a 3 week lay off. Let's hope that we can put in a good team performance and show these little urchins how a Sunbelt team on form can play. :D None of this scraping a 2-1 win like last time. :o

We finally showed these youngsters what the real Sunbelt can do. Even though it wasn't our best ever performance, it was nice to finally give one of the bottom teams a spanking.

We totally dominated the first half and apart from 5 minutes at the beginning and the end of the second half we dominated it as well. If Kaka had passed the ball more often we could have won by 7 or 8.

Overall it was a pleasing performance. :o

Yeah -good game for sure! And our starting defense let absolutely nothing through! :o

It has often been frustrating playing a game against what we knew, and could see, was a weak opponent on that day, just to see ourselves lowering our play level to their level rather than out-playing them. This time we kept shining to get that kind of impressive win.

I am still giggling typing this thinking about some of Chris's saves! He did not make it easy for himself but fantastic heart and effort!

Cheers!

Some lucky saves definitely. I still fell more comfortable with Moo or Gonzaque in goal though. :o

Well done to everyone who played on saturday it was good performance overall. And thankyou for the recognition Tytus it means alot, I'm sorry for my behaviour during the game I was just frustrated by the lack of the finally ball from our strikers that day, this is not a dig at their ability they are 2 of the best players in our team. Ithink everyone just wanted more goals that day.

Well done boys lets try and get a win next week and start an Arsenal style strong finish to the season. (By arsenal style i mean from past years not like we are doing now.... :o)
