There was a thread in the DIY housing forum a while back where someone mentioned buying one of these IBC containers and had a picture of the top middle one.

Middle-top row would be best choice, stack-able 2 high giving 2000 litre capacity on a square metre footprint. Fittings easily obtained.

Also generally, most widely available.  

Perhaps best bet would be Mrs Stament do a "google search" in Thai

Have two at home and as drought measures are now hitting New Zealand with a ban on outdoor hoses, my home grown veges for Opal will flourish.

International Bunded Container btw, 1000ltrs.

I like the small footprint of these tanks but how would you stop the public water flow into them without a float setup? Can you use some kind of electronic valve?

 

Is there just one inlet on the top and one outlet on the bottom?

Normally, yes.

One word of caution. The manual valves on these types of containers are not the most robust of things. If you are going to use them repeatedly they will fail after a while.
