I wouldn't regard being allowed out 19 hours a day free do do what you like given what is open as being locked in your room like a prisoner. The rules are pretty simple and easy to follow, you're free just except for a few wee hours of the night and with the bars having no signs of opening anytime in the near future it's not really that bad. Follow the rules and things will continue to ease, continue to break them and uncle Somchai will tighten the bootstrap again, welcome to military rule. 2 2

Mr Meeseeks
Why would anyone risk it at the moment with the threat of arrest, heavy fines and even deportation?

Popular Post Emdog
They knew the rules. They broke the rules. No excuses. They should be arrested and fined. The rules are reasonable and may contribute to Thailand's low case numbers. "But Johnny's mom let's him blah blah..." doesn't cut it. Good idea to get press involved. Inform others who might consider flaunting the rules. If they don't like it, they can go home to their "nanny states" 1
Popular Post jimmyswale
Back in the Uk where we have had nearly 50k deaths the beaches and parks are full to bursting whereas Thailand who has had only a handful is like a police state. Very sad. (correction badly run army controlled state). There was a rime long ago when you went to Thailand for the freedom it offered - no longer sadly. Perhaps that's WHY Thailand has only had a handful of cases and why the UK has had many. Edited May 26, 2020 by DefaultName 1
Popular Post Burma Bill
Plenty of "legal" drinking parties at bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants etc. across the border here in Cambodia. Face masks not mandatory and no curfew!! 1
natway09
Maybe a little pedantic but they were out, congregating, drinking in a public place after curfew Some of your comments are unfair. They could just as easily purchased their booze earlier & had a small quiet gathering at home. As I have said many times "we have to be governed (in particular at present) by the lowest common denominator )

Ketyo
Wow. And Thailand has a couple of case some days and zero cases some days. And they still have a curfew and alcohol ban. The government doesn't know that they will NEVER get the number of cases to zero every day. Not until there is a vaccine. Which could be a year or more away. And that people have to live. Even China cannot get its cases to zero - and that's a communist dictatorship whose people are not free. Thailand is getting like one of them African or South American dictatorships. The ones that are run by stupid, uneducated dictators.....where the country ends up as a basket case and everyone is poor except for a few corrupt government officials who steal from the rest.
