There is a guy I have used before but you need to speak Thai. If you are standing outside Peppers Bakery go along the road same side as Peppers and there is a AC workshop facing the road its not far before the traffic lights. Almost opposite the entrance to the Army Base

Over the years I have used Watanaa Air on Phalochai Road (road to Tohsang hotel). If you are coming in from Warin, drive up past Thung Sri Muang and turn left just past Ubon Plaza into Phalochai Road. Watanaa Air (for vehicles) is about 50 m up the road on the left, next to an entrance to Wat Chai Mongkon. Their aircon shop is directly across the road on the right hand side.

Thank you Dr Hare. Spot on. Problem sorted. It's the same old story where the car dealers can't fix specialist problems.

You are welcome but here I have given you advice to go to a specialist car air-con shop and I have just ignored my own advice and gone to the dealerships which have me cost heaps. The main reason is that both my vehicles needed their regular service and I didn’t want to go to two places.

The first vehicle was my 12 year old Chev Captiva. Air-con was not cooling all the time. Last week when I took it in to Chev in Ubon (very quiet these days) for its regular service I asked them to look at the air-con. They said that the A/C evaporator unit was leaking and it needed replacing for 6,500 baht. They had to get the unit up from Bangkok. This job has been done and it is working great.

The second vehicle was my 10 year old Ford Ranger. One day the air-con would be cool and the next day warm. Took it to Ford in Ubon on Tuesday for its regular service check and they told me the A/C Condenser Fan Assembly was not working all the time. The replacement cost is 9,000 baht. That was on Tuesday and the part has not arrived yet.

Anyway, good luck with Wattana Air. I hope your Honda A/C only needs a clean and not new parts
