You are not in the military now, so you cannot use that as an excuse.

I will join that club, I was sent in 1984, while my father was actually sent here in 1968

I found this interesting as China has and still has plans on Thailand, this is just a snipet from a redacted Full text of "USAF Operations from Thailand 1966, Counterinsurgency in Thailand

THE COMMUNIST THREAT

"The Chinese Communists have designs for all of Thai-
land, presently concentrating their efforts in the
northeast area. The Chinese provide the money, direc-
tion, and have recruited North Vietnamese, Laotians and
dissident Thais as agents. They have begun an ex-
tensive subversive movement which is growing at an
alarming rate. Subversive activities have increased by
approximately 400 percent within the last year." 1/

You speak for yourself, some of us came to Thailand to work, never having been here, or even S.E. Asia, before; Thai women were not a factor in the decision.  That's not to say they didn't turn out to be a bonus.

I was looking for an interesting place to visit and decided on Taiwan.  The travel agent was bit deaf and I ended up here.

I this a religious thread ?..............????

Marxism is a religion.

In this post, there is no mention of Marxism.

Logical conclusion: This post is not a religious thread.

That is by the far the wittiest comment I have ever seen. Both condescending and a smack at the same time.  Sorry Transam....I call it like I see it and so do you, it is what makes the forms very enlightening and entertaining.

Guilty your honor. I came here for the beautiful sexy Thai women. As many as I could afford. Then I became a trophy boyfriend.

In Mandarin Chinese, the appropriate phrase for this is:  Dang Huaping 党花瓶

Some companies and also women pay for Farang to do nothing other than just stand there and look pretty.

These companies and women think their image improves by having a token Farang on the payroll.

In my life, fortunately, I have had several opportunities to be a token American.

But this only usually happens in China.

More power to you.

Good man. I won't be talking anything around him!  LOL

What you really need in order to learn a new language is a very large Tesla coil.

Whenever I get stuck in my Thai language progress, I place my head close to a large Tesla coil.

There is nothing wrong with having an editor.

In fact, writers worth their salt should all have editors in order to improve their scribblings.

In this case, my original heading has been much improved.

I feel only gratitude to my editors for their vigilance.
