I would assume the shields do that as well to some degree. This could easily be scientifically studied and they should. Obviously not all the droplets are blocked by either. As much as I like those, one of the factors causing transmission is loud speaking or singing, obviously because the virus gets aerosolized better when you're piping at 130dB.
