UK Flat – Sell or Keep Renting? Expats Who’ve Been There – What Did You Do?
My house was actually in the US, but money should be money regardless of international borders (though some companies like Fidelity will not deal with you if you don't physically live in the US). I will never move back. My annuity is an account where my money is locked in for five years. It earns a guaranteed amount of interest which grows daily. Each year there is a window where I can either withdraw the interest earned from the year or leave it in to further grow via compound interest. I dropped in at the bank branch while visiting family, but once I decided to use them the entire thing was handled while I was in Thailand. Something that was of paramount importance was having a US-based phone that is capable of making wifi calls. I use a relatively inexpensive Samsung A-13 and have a Tello.com account, less than $8 US/month. I imagine there must be something similar in the UK. Do a Google/Grok search for annuities and see what are the best options available to you. The relief has been enormous! I'm not constantly worrying whether or not I paid the property taxes, renters insurance, or would I receive an email telling me a tree fell on the house or a leak developed in the roof, etc and I needed to get it fixed. -

Thailand Recognises Poker and American Football as Official Sports
File photo courtesy of Wikipedia The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) made a landmark announcement today, officially recognising poker as a sport. The decision, made during a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit, is expected to bolster the nation's economy by hosting regional and global competitions. SAT Governor Kongsak Yodmanee and Tourism & Sports Minister Surawong Thienthong also endorsed this move, positioning Thailand as a burgeoning hub for poker enthusiasts worldwide. The meeting also granted official sport status to American football, following its international recognition by both the Sports Accord and the International Olympic Committee. Interestingly, the LA 28 Olympic Summer Games will feature this sport. The Thai national flag football team has already shown promise, boasting a world ranking of 5th in 2023 and clinching gold at the 2014 Asian Beach Games. The SAT emphasised that poker, renowned for its strategic depth, is a widely popular card sport that requires intelligence, psychology, and emotional regulation. The game's newfound status in Thailand may lead to economic gains by attracting players, spectators, and tournaments, thereby amplifying the nation's appeal as a sports tourism destination, reported Thai Newsroom. The directive comes with a caveat: it mandates that poker must strictly remain a sport, untainted by gambling associations. This constraint ensures that the country, while embracing poker's sporting potential, avoids the pitfalls of gambling addiction. This strategic expansion in Thailand’s sports portfolio holds promise. The recognition of poker offers fresh avenues for athlete income and national revenue, reinforcing Thailand’s bid to become a sports tourism powerhouse. The broader implication is a more diverse sporting landscape in Thailand, welcoming both traditional and modern games under its official umbrella. Now that poker is officially recognised, stakeholders anticipate a boost in revenue and tourism, cementing Thailand's status as a pivotal player in the global sporting arena. The government's and SAT's efforts in balancing growth and regulation will be crucial to harnessing the full potential of these developments. In summary, the official acceptance of poker as a sport spells exciting new chapters for Thailand’s international sporting reputation and economic prospects. The careful management of its implementation will be key to reaping these benefits, ensuring a smooth transition into the country's diverse sports lineup. Accident Car Crash at Pattaya Junction Injures Two as Vehicle Ploughs into Som Tam Stall
If green light was for him is OK. Excuse but I can not think like that. Here periodically the crowd of cars/motos can easy ignore traffic lights/signs for few seconds or even more. Traffic regulations have not changed fundamentally since the 70s. There are no "shades of gray" in traffic regulations, there are priorities. A working traffic light has the highest priority. I have already written who is to blame earlier. In Thailand there is a special priority - the farang is to blame for everything. But to be honest, I had a case when the video recording of my recorder completely changed the course of the case. And the farang from the status of the culprit became the victim. The best talisman on the roads of Thailand is a video recorder! -

Not sure the Japanese consumer wants it though. Japanese rice is quite different to other rice. And Thailand has quite a bit of its own. That’s why it exports so much! -
