Songkhla’s Hat Yai Bus Terminal was teeming with people on Tuesday (June 9), when the ban on interprovincial bus services from the South was lifted.

People crowded at the doors, only five of which were open, as officials checked each person’s temperature before allowing them to enter.

Meanwhile, terminal master Nattaya Noiprasert said advance booking was now available and that 90 per cent of the tickets for Wednesday and Thursday had been bought up.

She also said only 20 of 40 seats will be available on buses in line with social-distancing regulations. Passengers are also required to check in and check out using the ThaiChana platform.

“Passengers arriving in Songkhla will also have to use a special app that is linked to the Songkhla public health office,” she added.

Separately, buses from Bangkok to Hat Yai will start running from Wednesday.

What about buses from Bangkok to Chiang Mai?

I watched a Bangkok <-> Phuket bus roll through Hua Hin last night.  First big bus I've seen in months.
