webfact Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Koh Chang: More than 100 budget and luxury hotels apply to join "stay one night get one free scheme" More than 100 hotels and resorts have applied to be part of a "Think about Trat" promotion where visitors to the eastern seaboard province next to Cambodia that includes Koh Chang would get one free night for each one they stay. The hotels that have applied to the Tourism Authority of Thailand are in the 500 baht to 4,000 baht a night bracket. So far 50 have been approved and 50 more are being checked ahead of the 15th June deadline for inclusion in the project. The scheme is expected to get underway on July 1st as Thailand enters its latest phases of lockdown easing following the height of the coronavirus pandemic. 77kaoded reported that the TAT had received many inquiries from tourists asking which hotels were joining the scheme. Thaivisa notes that visitors to Koh Chang - mainly Thais - have been increasing steadily since the province of Trat released lockdown measures. thenewgoo Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 So, is there any way of accessing a list of participating hotels/resorts? My Thai wife is very excited to have the opportunity to take us on a family beach holiday.

impulse Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 In related news, ferries to the island are scheduled to restart service some time in 2021. Yes, I'm kidding... 1

July 1st is the start date of Thai schools - international schools are finishing up over the next few weeks so the timing is perfect for us. 1
