Sorry for this but can't find reliable information anywhere. Is the border to Vietnam open now or in July for people who have been living in Thailand these last three years? (i'm not thai i'm a uk citizen). The UK  FCO is currently saying on their website: "Vietnam has temporarily banned entry into Vietnam for all foreign nationals. and Borders with China, Cambodia and Laos are currently closed except for the import and export of goods." Does this mean foreign nationals from their country or just anyone foreign?

 

I was planning to move to Vietnam before this covid problem emerged, to teach over there as ive spent a few years doing it here.

 

So basically can we  get in at the moment or not? from Thailand

BTW, Viet Jet Air are showing flight availability BKK to SGN from 16 August. However, in the grand scheme of things, that means absolutely nothing.

I called the local (Canadian) Vietnam Consulate for an update of any immigration/visa requirements and date at which foreigners were allowed to enter.  As of June 10, borders were were locked down, with no confirmed entry date.   Seems as though countries are setting up their travel "bubbles" or partners.

 

 

 

 

the thaiger is reporting: Only Vietnamese citizens and work permit holders are being granted entry, provided they show a negative test certificate and fulfill the mandatory 14 day quarantine period. The Vietnamese government has said it hopes to end its ban on international flights for countries that have not recorded a new case of the virus for more than 30 days.

 

i was checking as even air asia had flights to vietnam as well. keep watching i guess .. ill ask again in one month ..thanks

Borders are closed to all foreign nationals, People with expertise are allowed in with government approval(Oil Workers) and 14 days quarantine, work permit holders are not allowed at this time!
