Jetski guy fires multiple shots to threaten fisherman: "Get out and leave my cockles alone", he shouts

A video that was part of a "live" online broadcast showed a man riding a jetski who pulled out a gun and fired into the air multiple times to threaten local fisherman who he claimed were stealing his "hoi khraeng" or cockles.

Yelling "Get Out!" in the middle of the sea Santi, 29, continued to rant before heading back to shore where he gave up to the Phun Phin police in Surat Thani province in the south of Thailand. He handed over a 9 mm gun.

Sixty fishermen and relatives turned up to support him.

Santi said he had paid 2.2 million baht for baby cockles that he was rearing out at sea.

Jirot, 48, a fisheries official said it was theft, pure and simple. He said that efforts have been made to regulate the cockle raising business and other matters related to fishing.

He wants everyone to come together and sort out the problems.

Santi was charged with possession of a gun and discharging it in a public place.
