Hi Teejay,

I'm not sure where the off road tracks are but you could try to put a posting on www.9turbo.com on the forums there. Its a Thai RC website that is very helpful. Its all in Thai but you can post in English and will get a response.

I use A&J Hobby track behind Seacon Square and RCS in Ratchada, but I only attend drift and circuit race meetings.

You could also pick up a copy of RC Action magazine and check the tracks.

Good luck!

thanks guys, i posted the question at the site you mentioned skyline. How often do you go out racing?

do you have any tips on what batteries and chargers to use. I want a good charger that can charge and discharge fast and use in the car too. as far as batteries, i have no idea bout the NiCd and the NiMH difference, and the diff between 1200mah and 4000mah batteries. How many do i need to do constant running by switching batteries and charging the used ones?

any ideas on prices of good batteries and good charger and where to buy them?

Thanks a lot guys, i'm a total newbie to RC cars.

Hi

i think that might be same through out the country, we use to drive in practise runs and set up's on saturday and Sunday early morning's and later afternoon on sundays race.

Usually have brake during noon time as it's too hot.and continue if track has lights abt 5pm or so until 8.

im using Nitro cars so cant give any info regarding Batt cars.

here is my ride

Hi Teejay,

I go maybe every other weekend, depends if Ive got the freetime.

Batteries and chargers will depend on which motor youre running and the type of racing.I use a Tamiya RZ 23 turn motor with an Intellect 3800mah battery. This suits my need for druft and circuit racing just fine.As for chargers there is a huge range available.Expect to pay around 3000-5000 baht for a charger/discharger.

If you need any info on shops or accessories, let me know:D

Thanks for the info Skyline.

I just got back from Fast Forward way the hel_l out along the motorway. It was closed of course and I drove so far i decided to point my car headlights on the track and have a go.

Needless to say i beat the crap out of my rc car and it broke. I didn't bother looking at the damage (stupid me) until i got home and I'm missing a Drive Shaft and Gearbox Joint!!!! I'm pissed i didn't look at it earlier cuz I could have found it on the track, now I'm all the way home.

Should I go back and look for it? It's a good 45 minute drive and 65 baht tolls x 2. Or are these parts cheap and usually stocked? Is it something that can even be upgraded?

here is a pic of the big hole where the joint and shaft should be:

Oh Shit Teejay!

Sorry to hear it broke!

Thats a Tamiya chassis right?Well,if it is you wont have any probs finding parts.I dont know which area you live in so I'll give the names of the Tamiya dealers:

Tamiya (Distributer) Royal City Avenue,Rama 9.These are the main importers and have an impressive range of cars and parts.

A&J Hobby, behind Seacon Square,SriNakarin Rd.My local shop and the guy does great deals on spare parts.Sometimes need to wait a couple of days for stock.

There are a few more scattered around BKK,but I cant remember the names at the moment...too many beers :o

That chassis looks like it needs some stronger parts if youre gonna use it off road.

Let me know how you get on!

Marco:

Hey,Thanks....Nice nitro car.Too fast for me though!
