The Cabinet will not discuss the issue of a “travel bubble” pact with a few other countries today (June 16), Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said, adding that his ministry is preparing for the operation.

Anutin said the Tourism and Sports Ministry has a list ready of “safe” countries that can be part of the travel bubble.

“Numerous embassies have submitted documents to Thailand for the purpose. Initially, we will allow only businessmen or mechanics to enter our nation, before permitting tourists,” he promised.

Auntin said countries are being chosen depending on the Covid-19 situation there or what preventive measures they are taking.

“We are in the preparation phase, after which we will propose the operation to the prime minister for approval,” he said.

Meanwhile, tourism stimulus measures which are being proposed to the Cabinet will cover tax reduction and other operations, not just cash handouts, Anutin clarified.

Is it Anutin or Auntin? Typo? Need spacing? Go to his office, ask "Is a nut in?" or "Is aunt in?" A rose by any other name. "Travel bubble head" works too.

Probably tourists from China.

Dont think there would be many tourists from Vietnam, Myanmar.

A few from Laos crossing the border to purchase supplies from Tesco and Big C.

Australia and New Zealand won’t be in it what’s the benefit for them.

Dream on Mr Anutin.

Now that China has new cases and New Zealand too (albeit dirty British Farang arrivals), it's not a convenient time for Anutin to trot out his travel bubble info. South Korea has had issues too and Australia is not willingly allowing it's citizens to leaver the county to go anywhere. Importing new cases from friendly China would not look good. Despite all the talk, I cannot see tourism being allowed back to end of October. Good to see marriage visa holders being considered now. Maybe next after that maybe retirement and education visa/extension holders..

A little premature ej........n on getting his ego back on the front covers, in other words all he is doing is blowing bubbles once again, or it that frothing at the mouth while stroking his ego.

I though the PM sidelined him ?

I wonder why?? Perhaps because of this, Beijing Districts now in lock-down due to a resurgence in Covid-19:-

Quote from The Guardian (UK):-

Beijing lockdown tightens as new coronavirus outbreak spread

On Monday, authorities announced 49 new cases, 36 of which were linked to the Xinfadi seafood supermarket in Beijing’s southern Fengtai district. The wholesale market was closed on Saturday after it was identified as being at the centre of a new cluster of cases.

Thailand is left out on all travel bubbles because of the racist issues of Anutin and they must wait for India, China and Russia to rediscover Thailand. As an example Bangkok is a shopping destinations for tourists from ASEAN countries but even if they open the borders the Indonesians, Malays and Singaporeans will not come just to save a few bucks to go shopping or have a foot massage. The Top Destinations of Singapore Airlines due to a survey are Germany, South Korea, Australia, Japan and Taiwan.

It looks clear to me that the global travel industry is focusing on the free world and that leaves Thailand completely out and with Russia, India and China still have not cleared Covid-19 many governments around the world see Thailand to close to China so my guess they can only establish a travel bubble with other countries that give a damn about environments, human rights and sustainable tourism.

The only thing that is on the table is a Green Lane for business travelers to come back including a large number of engineers as many factories have issues with their machinery and those machines need to be maintained by overseas staffs from the manufacturers mainly from Japan, South Korea, China and Europe.

Thailand is finished and a lot of hotels will cancel the lease or convert into condos and the country have to start back from scratch 1 from the 80's.

Malaysia has not that problem as they have a country such as Singapore as a neighbor and a lot of Indonesians and Singaporeans that own properties in the country.

The only way for Thai hotels is to dump prices to attract it to local travelers and a friend of mine who runs a hotel that cost normally 2600 Baht a night you can buy that room now at 750 Baht per night

And there is CCP trying to quell more infections in Wuhan,Beijing, and Shulan cities.

And thats the ones we know about.

Only China and Thailand believe CCP numbers.  Kinda like the fox guarding the henhouse.
