Minibus from Patong to Phuket Airport

Featured Replies

Anybody know if minibuses are currently running from Patong to the airport? Or any method of getting there for less than a taxi? I have a flight Friday, midday.

It seems that Phuket Smart Bus is still operating. The bus stop in Patong is close to Jungceylon.

Phuket Smart Bus is not running at this time. Granted, the website does not reflect that, however I have been monitoring their app for the past several days, and there are not any buses moving, nor have I seen any running through Kamala. I imagine they will not start running, until the airport is open to international flights.

I would would use https://www.phuketshuttle.com/ Prices are about the same as taxi without the BS, book online, tip included.

I was waiting to check the map when the buses were supposed to start to update my answer, if necessary. You beat me to it.

Wouldn't it be easier to use a taxi with the meter on than using PhuketShuttle? I always take a taxi from the airport; the other way, I use vecay (https://www.vecayphuket.com).

I just checked the prices, PhuketShuttle wants 800 baht to Patong, which is considerably more than a metered taxi. vecay wants 630 baht (570 baht if paying online).

The bus TO the airport runs along the beach road and stops at the bottom of Bangla.

If it was running!

Saw an advert on Facebook for shared minivans to the airport.

That is the stop going towards the airport. Going from the airport, the bus runs along Ratuthit and the stop is at the Office of Electricity Patong, some 100 meters past Jungceylon.

Edit: Aargh - just found out that trappedinasia wants to go to the airport. Sorry for the wrong information in my posts.

There's a big clue in the thread title.

Thanks, everyone. Vecay looks good, unless somebody pops up with info about shared shuttles that are currently running.

Prior to Covid, I've used Taxi Phuket https://www.taxiphuket.com and they have always been reliable. Cost from Patong to or from the airport is 600 baht. I assume they are still in operation.

Note that you have to pay in advance, but I think that's one way they keep their costs down since they don't have to worry about no-shows or last minute cancellations.
