Ahead of Trump rally, coronavirus cases surge in Oklahoma, other states

That's Q-Level wishful thinking - harkens back to the "sealed indictments" story pre-2018 election.  The deep-state will, at most, throw a few disposables under the bus for show.

I'd like to be wrong about that - would love to see Clapper do time for lying to Congress ("not wittingly," indeed) and the FISA-Warrant purjurers hung out to dry - but history indicates that is unlikely to happen.

The problem is, Trump doesn't support MAGA any more.  Employers who hire illegals continue with impunity, no fees were put on remittances (treasury regulation), the work-visas are STILL being "fast tracked" right now, with 40 Million + Americans unemployed by the shutdown, the "NAFTA-II" deal keeps the factories in Mexico, and minimal tariffs on Chinese goods only just move factories to Vietnam or India (if that).

Trump as POTUS is about cheap-labor for corporations, and Exactly Nothing for the working-class folks who voted Trump, thinking he would re-instate the policies that created and sustained the greatest middle-class the world had ever known.  All the laws he needs are already on the books.

Then, on top of it all, he bolstered the lying claims of the rioters - pretending that 'systemic-racism' is real.  Well, it is, but only if you are what "they" call "white" and "straight."  Everyone else has extra-rights, and rioters at the ready if anyone gives you any problems - even if the problems were self-inflicted.

What is the only demographic that ever votes majority-R?   What subset of those are being put in direct-competition with the poorest of the world for jobs?  Does Trump even want to win?

Your attack against Trump here is misguided in its blame.

A war is always a good idea, if you are struggling to get re-elected.

( Thatcher and the Falklands war).

Watch out North Korea, Iran, Venezuela etc.

The war that 45 is inflaming for his political purpose is a civil war. That harsh reality should make our external enemies dance in the streets.

Yes 45 was humiliated in Tulsa. Great news! Oklahoma is as red a state as there is yet he couldn't fill it even there. Not even close. No overflow venue at all. Didn't he say they had requests for a million tickets? Lying much?

Now of course 45 being 45 he has to blame his failures on someone else.

So he blames it on media reporting the facts of a spike in infections in OK.

And of course the protesters, mostly black, that he explicitly and offensively called thugs for allegedly blocking rally entrances.

But alas another lie as objective reports say only one entrance was attempted to be blocked and that one for a very short time until it was quickly and easily cleared by police.

The total lack of a crowd was enjoyably reminiscent of his sold-out, overcrowded, biggest-crowd-in-history inauguration. ???? Deja vu! ????

The spike couldn't be because there's more testing being conducted?

No, it couldn't.

DeSantis pivots on Covid-19 surge, says testing doesn't account for spike

Gov. Ron DeSantis acknowledged on Saturday that the rising number of new Covid-19 cases in Florida cannot be explained away by an increase in testing, and announced plans to step up enforcement of social distancing practices in bars and nightclubs.

“Even with the testing increasing or being flat, the number of people testing positive is accelerating faster than that,” DeSantis told reporters during a briefing at the state Capitol. “You know that's evidence that there's transmission within those communities.”

Yes. CNN bad! Especially the way they've provided distorted and dishonest reporting about what's going on in Seattle!

Fox News removes digitally altered, misleading photos of Seattle protest zone

Fox News has removed digitally altered photos from its website after the Seattle Times on Friday noted misleading images used in the network’s coverage about a Seattle neighborhood that’s become a protest center against police brutality and racial injustice.

As of Saturday, Fox News included an editors note posted at the top of at least three stories on its website covering the protest zone, saying it replaced a “home page photo collage” because it “did not clearly delineate between these images” and that it mistakenly included a St. Paul, Minnesota, photo in a slideshow about Seattle.

The Seattle Times reports Fox News’ website featured at least two photos on Friday that inserted an image of a man standing with a military-style rifle, and that there were no disclaimers on how they were manipulated when featured on the network’s website for most of the day Friday.

before you shame fox news about the photoshopped collage, let's confirm the source.  an editor's note called it a "home page photo collage," so i'm guessing they pulled the photo from someone's facebook/social media page.  is anyone claiming that an employee at fox altered the images?

sadly, that seems to be the state of journalism today - troll social media for "trending" stuff to fill up the 24 hours of daily broadcasts.  pay millions to celebrity talking heads to present the news, while cutting the budget for research and investigation, letting minimal wage interns write much of the copy.

of course, now people will be watching more carefully.  will fox crop the photos of the oklahoma rally to edit out the empty seats?

Praise to the more intelligent of the 45 fans that stayed away from this super spreader rally. The vast majority of the 45 fans following their dear leader predictably wore no masks.

Apparently the GenZ crowd is a little more with it than the Millenials. They ran an orchestrated online campaign to reserve seats well beyond the venue's capacity. Pretty cool.

Was as incoherent as usual. The part that amplified that incoherency was when he talk about watching the taking down of confederate statues on TV and then he switched and talk about many TVs in AF One and then switched again and talk about how he bargained with Boeing for the new AF One and then switched again and talk about Boeing’s financial problems. He forgotten the original subject. Think he has Aphasia. We probably will hear more of his mental condition from Mary Trump’s upcoming book.

it's as if jack kerouac were ghost-writing his MAGA-speeches.

And if your cans are redhot and you can't hold them in your hands, just use good old railroad gloves, that's all. I let the food cool a little to enjoy more wine and my thoughts. I sat crosslegged in the sand and contemplated my life. Well, there, and what difference did it make? "What's going to happen to me up ahead?" Then the wine got to work on my taste buds and before long I had to pitch into those hotdogs, biting them right off the end of the stick spit, and chomp chomp, and dig down into the two tasty cans with the old pack spoon, spooning up rich bites of hot beans and pork, or of macaroni wit sizzling hot sauce, and maybe a little sand thrown in.

Since in Fox's statement acknowledging the errors, no mention was made of pulling the photo from a facebook/social media page, that explanation is dubious.

only one photo of the rally on the foxnews site.  wow!  looks packed!  not an empty seat in sight!  the article mentions one million requests for tickets at a stadium with a capacity for only 20,000.  no mention of the acutal number of attendees.  ah, just an oversight i guess.

Just watched the replay of his rally.

He looked surprisingly fresh and energetic. Very funny at some points.

He will kill Joe in any debates.

I see a big comeback by Trump and I bet November winner.

It would need to be a historically big comeback considering he has Jimmy Carter type poll numbers now.

I'm slogging through the rally rants. It's putting me to sleep and the crowd doesn't sound very excited either.

Could it be his act is getting stale?

Where is cancel culture when you need them.

the reports stated than an editor's note called it a "home page photo collage."

unclear if the fox editor meant it was pulled from a random homepage, or one of the fox staffers created the "collage."

It's not unclear. You're reaching. You've decided that it might mean it was taken presumably without permission from someone's facebook page or something similar and used by Fox.

COVID-19 Hospitalizations Set Records 9 Days Straight as Texas Surpasses 107K Cases

"In a bid to curb the increasing daily number of cases in Dallas County, where COVID-19 is now the third-leading cause of death, commissioners voted Friday to require businesses to ensure customers wear a face covering."

"Abbott cautioned that state leaders would interpret the number as a "red flag" if it climbed to a sustained trend of around 10%.

The index dropped drastically in May, to a low of 4.27% on May 26, but has been ticking upward again since Memorial Day and reached 8.94% on Saturday -- a level not seen April 20."

6,611 is a house-count I've seen published. Based on th 19,000 capacity I'd say that is a stretch.

Can't wait to hear the details on the next rally.

Lord of the Ramp needs to up his game.

Who gives a flip about the source? Shouldn't a NEWS organization check the veracity of what they are publishing no matter the source?
