Kho Tao - self catering/restaurants

Featured Replies

Hi all - so I’ve gotten a decent deal down there early next month and we’ll be staying in a place which allows for self catering.

Im just wondering what the availability down there is for western basics (decent bread, breakfast cereals, meat, sausages, fresh salad). No huge loss if they aren’t available but kind of wondering if they are.

Im assuming fresh fish and other seafood would be widely available.

Also any idea on if restaurants are opening - especially for take away etc.

Restaurants will be open. It´s a wide variety of western cuisine. All from breakfast to dinner.

No problem. Stay happy! Some small shops will have the basics as well.

decent bread

I visited/ lived in LOS for many decades, but never found anything resembling "decent" bread. I don't think it's a Thai thing.

Your stay should be done and gone by now, so I'd appreciate an update as to how it was. Haven't been there since the early 90s. I did pass by on the ferry to Phangan many years later and was astonished at the number of cabins everywhere. Even big rocks had a cabin perched on them.
