Agree 100%

Once the COVID-19 situation is under control in any country, they have to be extremely cautious of opening their doors to foreigners/tourists, especially without a strict quarantine procedure.

how sure it will be known as under control in any country is mind boggling plus add on more world wide issues and look at South Africa as well

Mind boggling it is.

Today, there are a couple of countries that are under control, but time only will confirm. At least till then, those countries should tread gently.

Well..it's perfectly obvious that the Trump internet virus has been with us for 4 years now-tho rumour has it that the contagion had started two years before.

Which is why-on a topic about Thailand relaxing its strict regulations on Covid 19-it has, once again, cross infected many non glove wearing keyboard typists leading to the usual frenzies..associated with agitation of the digits..

Dr Thira also commented on the upcoming opening of 30,000 schools on Thursday and the change in restrictions that will allow the opening of bars, pubs and soapy massage.

These all represented perfect opportunities for the virus to make a resurgence due to close interactions of people

Does this doctor stay in a bathtub full of hand gel 24hrs a day?

Thai people are too paranoid. The chances of them dying from road accidents is higher than the virus.

Please tell us the countries that are not paranoid and allow free inbound travel.

It is all part of a socialist revolution now taking place in the USA, using massively exaggerated "racial prejudice" as an excuse for disruption and destruction of the American economy, and ultimately, the entire American political system.

I'm guessing you could happily replace 'racial prejudice' with 'global warming', and be just as convinced you're making perfect sense, right?

The solution of the Philippines for the revival of tourism, I find a good solution. Not unnecessarily long quarantine times

Except that only applies to a few countries (Australia, New Zealand) diplomats and overseas workers.  Also visa on arrival is suspended.  No bars open yet, at least where I live.  Some  dien in restaurants open with contact information demanded. Who knows next week.

Have to appreciate how hard the authorities are working and who they are “gifting” to support their narrative.  Nothing like elevating fear to get attention.  Wonder how many COVID experts they have rounded up to manage the public narrative?

I have.

I visit the local hospital once or twice a year and they out me to see a good English speaking doctors who do know what they are doing and they do it very well.

Back in 2006 I went to the Bangkok Heart hospital to have a stent put in. He found that I actually needed 2 and sorted that out easily for me.

I am very happy to have a Thai doctor. male or female, young or old to to repair me when bits of me are broken or sick.

I agree for 50/50 with you.

Let me tell you an experience with Thai doctors, is happens a few years ago, in the weekend I got flashes in my eye, strange and I was thinking I'll wait until monday.

Monday I went to the Bangkok/Phuket hospital, an eyedoctor examine my eye, and quickly he told me, after maybe 5 minutes, "you have an detachable retina" (retina tear)

Youl have to go to Bangkok because it have to be lasered, we don't have the equipment her.

Honestly I couldn't believe it and went to the International hospital also in Phuket for a second opinion.

The doctor already there take a look but he couldn't find anything and give me the advice to visit him at night in his clinic where he can take a second look, but also there he couldn't find anything.

The same weekend I contact relatives in europe, and they arrange through my insurence company an appointment with the hospital in BKK the next tuesday.

I was very happy I have been to BKK because for sure it was wrong with my retina, and in 1.5 hours they fixit!

So for that reason, and not only for that one, I have very mixed feelings, in the last 20 years about Thai doctors.

Looking at the number of deaths on roads by "drivers", not cars, I wonder if the risk is really all that great to think of opening the doors. In any event, if the doors are thrown wide open, who is going to come in? Tourism was in the total dumps well before the corona made it's debut on stage.

This parrot needs to go collect his free watch from Prawit.. The old Seiko for his help to fight off the evil farang. Honestly how did this muppet become a doctor. How much was the certificate and what's your name so l can be sure never to get you in case of a accident.

Daniel Defoe wrote about the Plague of 1665. To put that terrible year into perspective, London’s deaths from the Plague at its height in September 1665 were in excess of 6,000 per week. Pro rata that would be the equivalent today of around 130,000 deaths in London in just seven days, and around half a million in a month.

Defoe recounted how being confronted with an intractable disease began eventually to provoke among the Londoners of 1665, who had locked themselves down for weeks, a complete ‘Despair of their ever being able to escape the infection’. But then he noted this very phenomenon provoked another which was that they gave up worrying about the plague ‘and went anywhere and everywhere and began to converse’ and met in public places. In short, they undid their own self-imposed lockdown because it had become psychologically and practicably impossible to sustain it.

and a bat from the wet market came up with that idea.

???? No but maybe one of the many BL4 Labs exported from the States ( too many dangerous releases occured in USA ) into the rest of the world performing gain of function experiments on Corona Virus (weaponizing them making more susceptible to humans ) All funded by CDC & Gates , you may know of the Wuhan Lab in China. I say Globalist because WHO were very strong in supporting China's method of trying to control the virus (Lockdowns), which strangely the free world then adopted, except for a few enlightened countries that saw the scam and Control of POWER it was..

I hear the BAT story , but its almost impossible for a virus to cross species ( evolution tends to take care of this)  unless WE have had a hand in helping this to occur, via poorly controlled experimentation , genetic manipulation or introduction via Vaccines themselves,as has been proven with Retroviruses.????

You are totally ignorant to suggest that the "heads of government deny the virus is a problem in the USA". Trump totally focused the US government on creating a massive prevention, testing and treatment process for COVID-19; beginning with shutting off flights from China back in January, with Europe not far behind. BILLIONS of dollars were dedicated to the testing and treatment efforts nationwide; and the economy was widely shut down from March through mid-June, with only sporadic, controlled re-opening still in process. How the hell can you call that "denying" that the virus is a problem? Shame on you for spreading such a salacious LIE!

In truth Trump  did  not shut off flights from  China. He only stopped Chinese nationals from entry.

40,000 others arrived from China after that and because there was no quarantining they dispersed to  seed the USA thereafter.
