UK ready to quit EU on 'Australia terms' if no Brexit deal, Johnson says

1. Exactly why the UK does not need EU tariffs. We do not grow oranges, so will be able to import them more cheaply without the EU tariff which protects the Spanish growers.

2. Now we are out of the EU, we don't have to watch EU grant factory relocations to the EU and the same products being imported back to the UK. We can provide state aid where we need to or apply tariffs to EU imports.

4. Yes, the politicians of the past 40 years have been stupid. Fortunately, we are now free of that political Europhile stupidity.

1. Bravo

https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/products-eurostat-news/-/DDN-20190107-1

The UK can get oranges cheaper from Egypt and South Africa. yeah.

I would not rely on Egypt, they have problems with their neighbors because of the nile dam. However, if the UK does not support the orange growers in Spain, they will have less money and will not go on vacation to London to see the crown jewels. The bottleneck is not the procurement of products, but the sale. The question of how over 50% of UK exports to the EU can be sold elsewhere is much more interesting. And the price difference for the final consumption of the different oranges is minimal, by the way.

2. That is fine.

Before you asked why the UK shouldn't import cheaper oranges, and now you find that UK companies are moving out of the UK because they can produce cheaper elsewhere. Btw the EU does not prohibit national aid for companies to secure jobs.

Unfortunately, the competitiveness of UK companies within the EU is not the best. The productivity indices are unfortunately only in the lowest mediocrity.

After Brexit alone on the world market, tell me a few products where the UK is leading. Just for the sake of interest.

3. Missing

4. There must be something in the UK water that makes the Brexiteers smarter than all the other Brits since 47 years.

It is both.

The EU naturally protects its domestic markets and their workers and taxpayers. A good example was the import stop of Thai fish products because of the slave-like conditions on Thai fishing boats. Or shrimp farming with incredible amounts of pesticides.

Yes, and due to the high tariffs on unfairly produced dumping products, a lot is subsidized with that money within the EU.

The EU is clearly also luring large companies with tax advantages if it can be proven that they create jobs within the EU.

The tax revenue from many employees (wages and sales tax) brings the state more than a high corporate tax. That is why many companies are moving in the past their production to low-wage countries like China.

And we don't want to talk about private tax evaders. The UK is on the front line with its Canal Islands.

The EU wants to drain these swamps.

And then came the much-celebrvoter has given them this license.ated Brexit. The super-rich UK tax avoiders are still grinning with joy and can hardly believe their luck that the UK

British canals are generally straight and narrow by definition. Most super-rich UK tax avoiders are actually remainers.

Ah Tomacht, you must understand English exceptionalism. The only thing that is has been holding the UK back from being world dominating in all sorts of areas, is those beastly Europeans. Some people have been unkind enough as to suggest that we destroyed our own manufacturing industry in the 1980s because our government had a hand in setting the absurdly high interest rates that made investment nigh on impossible.

We will triumph over all the odds with our Dunkirk spirit (OK it was a defeat, but forget that). Everybody will be so desperate to do trade deals with us that we will receive endless offers of deals which are hugely advantageous to us. All this talk of US and China taking advantage of us is just scaremongering. We are an importing nation, everyone wants to sell us goods. Exporting is totally overrated, never did much good to China, or Germany. Who cares about the balance of payments, we can just let the £ slide.

Why do we need young immigrants coming here and paying taxes so we can afford our pension bill, we can just have the occasional cull of old people who are considered to be lacking in true Brexiteer patriotism.

If it hadn't been for the remainers we would have been flying high already. and Blah blah blah

I will say it again. it is not the countries in Europe I am against it is the entity called the EU. Sadly many just don't seem to know the difference. It would seem many are happy to be dictated by bureaucrats in Brussels. The people of the UK in a democratic vote, voted out.

555. Yes.

Have you ever looked at the age structure of the population pyramid in the UK?

In addition to the horrendous debts, the few young Britons also have to earn pensions for the big group of aging pensioners.

And life expectancy is also increasing.

I am excited to see what well-paid high-tech products the UK will deliver over the next 20 years to supply the growing army of the elderly without immigration. Not to mention the possibilities of international market access.

Hallelujah.

germany had the right idea, after a heavy night on the schnapps merkel opened germanys doors to a million goat herders from the 4th century they,ll be germanys answer to their ageing population problem.

Well, then everything is fine. With Brexit, foreigners will no longer come.

But they still do come and come. Just look at the recent murders in the UK lately from immigrants. They are still coming and why is that. It must be a easy life where they come from if a hotel room is not good enough with money and food given to you.

They keep coming because the UK is a soft touch like many EU countries. Germany, Sweden, Denmark are all feeling it for their generosity.

Just remember we are all in a Thailand forum where a country doesn't put up with fool,s yet it is acceptable for your home country to do the same. No doubt the liberal lefties will be shaking in their boots with anger. Like the Lilly Allen's and other champagne socialists, I don't see her and others opening up their mansions to the immigrants but they are happy to let them into the streets of the people.

We have the EU to thank for that.

Your posts are just bitter schoolyard nonsense, it reminds me of the husband who divorced her husband 4 years ago and still has to keep sending her sad messages like, "I never loved you anyway" "I don't believe the child we had is mine" "It would have been been better if I had never met you"

You know full well that it is the UK that is leaving the EU but continually say "Englanders" we are English, this can method of posting can only be described as baiting. If you cannot post without all these pathetic snide remarks, why bother at all, you are just embarrassing yourself.
