Vehicles frequently overturning on new stretch of Thai road

Residents living along route 304 in Chachoengsao contacted the media to say that an unbelievable number of accidents have happened on the road in the last seven months.

That is since a stretch of 5.5 kilometers was changed from 4 to 8 lanes.

Vehicles overturning have been reported on a daily basis.

Especially in rainy conditions, said the residents.

77kaoded headlined their piece: Be careful about overturning.

I came down 304 on Sunday, the road has a lot of ruts in the left lanes from heavy trucks, they can easily catch people out, some parts really bad, throw in the rain and generally inept drivers and there will be accidents for sure!

I think the camber. Don't think it's anything to do with peelaws.

Surely you are not suggesting that C2H6O had any part in these occurances?

Dont worry even with 8  lanes the Thai driver instinctively  will sit in lane 8 for  km after km, at night when the Police have gone to sleep the  lorries  will take  over.

Too much turtle wax on the cars.

Apparently, even the soi dogs cannot get a firm footing on this road either.

Considering the standard of driving, NOTHING is unbelievable!

It's the road fault and crooked asphalt and the poles and trees in the way and nothing to do with bad driving ethics and manners...

Flipping a pickup truck is a piece of p*ss when they can put articulated tankers on their roofs ..

Given the love of blessing everything they need to get the monkhood down there , paint some luckyness on the road and stuff ..

Ha ha! Initially I thought that was the chemical formula for my sarcasm!

We know why Turtle Wax so expensive - because their ears are so small.

What an incredibly boring video!

Being an avid collector of car numbers, I don't know how you can say that. There are at least five I haven't seen before.

And that is the real crux of the subject

Poor Driving

One poster mentioned ruts from heavy vehicles. If the rut has a couple of mm of water in it the tyre will aquaplane and every driver here knows the instant response is to grab a big handful of steering and slam your foot on the brake and, especially in a pick-up, without touching the clutch pedal.

????????

The residents should ask why is this new section of road unfriendly to pick up trucks with big wheels bald tyres and idiots in the saddle

Oh wow! Now I have 4 lanes to zigzag eratically in and out without checking the mirror! Just cant wait to try them all out, especially in the rain!

The pictures in the OP show concrete road.

If I understand the meaning of ruts correctly, they are only in asphalt roads.

Near where I live they have widened road #36 and made it all concrete, so no ruds, but now they have big signs every 1 km or so on the straight patches " slippery when wet "  :cheesy::cheesy:

Someone wrote beneath the sign: 'So is mine'

8 lanes?! I wonder if any road in the whole UK has 8 lanes. Certainly not outside of motorways. What the hell are they for?
