letter to UK

Featured Replies

Asking here because I dont want to fill in an on-line life story to get a simple answer to a simple question.

What is the cost of sending a letter ( one of those old fashioned things involving pen and paper ???? ) about 20/25 grams from Thailand to UK?

Thanks.

Local office stuck it on the scale and said 'less than 1 kilo is 950 baht' I picked it up and said I'll let you know ????.

Thai post office will tell you I find not much if you ask for medium, EMS expensive but depends on how importance the content is to you.

I thought airmail was not in operation at this time? When I went to ask at the post office in Bangkok they said only overland mail is available and no airmail due to coronavirus.

Air mail to the UK is operational now. Cost to send a letter, registered, standard air mail two pages, 106 baht.

Maybe the post employee was not up-to-date about regular airmail possible to UK since quite a while.

For that previous post applies (1xx Baht).

I never send unregistered mail overseas.

Recommend you always send mail recorded delivery (long tabien). Only (used to) costs 65 baht extra but 99+% chance of reaching its destination. I once sent 2 letters in a row to a UK address by ordinary airmail and none of them arrived.
