Pattaya: "Very drunk foreigner" crashes into Thai man chatting with a friend

Police and rescue services were called to the Huay Yai area of Pattaya  after an MG car driven by a foreign man crashed into a Thai man who had been chatting with a friend. 

 

Thiwa, 75, was given first aid at the scene then transported to hospital. 

 

The accident happened near the Jao Phor Hao Dong shrine at 11 pm on Thursday night.

 

A friend of the victim said that they had been chatting behind the victim's BMW when he caught sight of the MG swerving and out of control.

 

He managed to jump clear but his friend was not so lucky. 

 

He said that the foreign man was very drunk and would not talk to anyone at the scene.

 

He was arrested and taken away by the Huay Yai police.

I doubt that a crashed MG would be worth much. Even the pristine ones don't have have a particularly high resale value.

Hope the Thai fellow recovers okay. Hope the Foreign guy gets the maximum

and has to pay a lot besides getting deported as soon as he is done his prison

Lock him up with maximum sentence jail time and fines and deport persona non grata afterwards.

Too many tossers just drive cars and bikes after boozing and just assume its normal.

 

2 years in jail and a 500,000 Baht fine should clarify the mind and then full recompense to the injured man

farang is Thai ethnic slur for Caucasians.

They have different slurs for foreign Asians and Africans.
