  • Your beloved “institutions” broke the law, all Snowden did was expose them and that rightfully so!

  • He doesn't have any principles except doing what he thinks is best for Donald Trump.

  • That’s our Donald!pandering to the younger voters and trying to descredit the institutions that have kept us safe over the years imo he’s a wonderfull asset to anyone who wants to weaken America

Ok, well, then he will be pardoned...next story...

Any headline or article that begins :"Trump says..." implies that whatever "Trump says..." is worth considering/mulling over. It's not worth a dog's turd. Shock turns to amazement to indifference to disgust, that there are still folks that takes whatever Trump says..." seriously. The reason people pay attention to whatever "Trump says..." is simply because the mouth that utters it belong to someone who happens to be the POTUS at the moment. And who put him there? Or more importantly who surrendered the legislative power to the executive one that Trump wields like a weapon in the fight between himself vs the rest of the human race? That requires some deep nation soul searching that Americans are still wrestling with.

In the meantime we (Americans) should do our best re damage control while the bull is still in the china shop. Begin with disregard whatever "Trump says...", curb his power which is running amuck, and put on our best defense.  And how do we do that? We have the power of the people as long as we haven't turned to sheep. Communities, cities, states, where are we, every and all of us? How do we defend our constitution and ourselves in the face of attack from maligned forces? The only anomaly here is that those forces are not external but come from inside the White House, where Trump and his circus of clowns concoct endless plans of destruction at every level of our institutions, sowing discord among the populace (do wrongs to rights and rights to wrongs) so that we can tear ourselves apart, while letting a deadly virus on the loose. That is what we should pay attention to, not whatever the mf says. Keep in mind that while Trump bends the laws in dealing with Americans, the latter upholds it in dealing with him, and that's what gives him the upper hand.

No. Rep senators are enablers. AG Barr is a crony goon. What so hard to understand. I am sure you delighted with his appointment working on the behest of Trump rather than for the people. If that is your reason for speaking out for Barr, that is perfectly your call. I called him a goon not you. No need to defend that statement unless you aim to insinuate.

So I see you are in the same catagory as "Phoenix Rising," unable to have a productive conversation on politics without resorting to school yard name calling. It's a shame that there doesn't seem to be a minimum age for joining the Forum. Ignored in future.

What's your point...that foreign born immigrants aren't Americans...sounds pretty Trumpian to me.

No, it would show a great ignorance on your side. See stance of trump and DoJ on indicting a sitting president.

Individual #1 (aka trump) is an unindicted co-conspirator.

The DoJ OLC "memo" restricts both the indictment and prosecution of a sitting president.

You seem to need a lot of things explaining to you, so perhaps you can explain a few things to me........

– Why did Trump think that Finland was part of Russia?

– Why didn't Trump know that India had a border with China?

– What made Trump think that he could buy Greenland?

– Why did Trump think it was okay to grab women by the pussy if you were rich?

– Why did Trump want some "global warming" to hit one of his states which was having a cold spell?

– Why did Trump think that disinfectant might be a good thing to inject to cure Covid?

– Why did Trump denigrate an American war hero?

I could answer all those in one word for you and it begins with "d' but I'll let you have your say.

We learn from the best name caller aka Trump. Try ignore him for a change.

So who was it Obama pardoned ?? The main Wiki leeks informer.   Plus the General who leaked about Iran

"At the same time that Mr. Obama commuted the sentence of Ms. Manning, a low-ranking enlisted soldier at the time of her leaks, he also pardoned James E. Cartwright, the retired Marine general and former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who pleaded guilty to lying about his conversations with reporters to F.B.I. agents investigating a leak of classified information about cyberattacks on Iran’s nuclear program."

The two acts of clemency were a remarkable final step for a president--New York times

Would Trump issue a pardon? If he did, Snowden would lose any 5th amendment rights and would have to spill any beans he might still hold if put under oath

I'd go for commutation same as he gave his buddy Roger Stone. Avoids jail and keeps mouth shut.

Is Snowden getting a pardon "justice"? We are talking about Trump, you know. One of those big words he does not know the meaning of

Commutation is out of the question.  Snowden would have to be tried and convicted first to which he would never agree, since who would trust Trump.

I love these folks who one minute are spewing vitriol on everything and everyone who supports the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and conservatism - and then the next minute they are wrapping themselves in an America flag and berating the evil traitor.
There's just something rather novel about watching flip-flops like that.  "Watch out!  You'll throw your back out!"

Well, to start, none of your inquiries has anything to do with being president of the United States, which like any high level position in any organisation is more about leadership and vision, and not the nitty gritty of specific policy and initiatives,  and I would only be speculating in my answers, but sure, I'll have a go at it:

1. For 50 odd years, Donald Trump busied himself building multiple careers in various fields of endeavour...including high-rise real estate development, casinos, hotels, and leisure (golf courses), among others. Later in life, he build a successful show business career, eventually becoming one of America's most popular prime time TV personalities. Then to top this all off, he decided to enter public service and started at the top, by running for president. He started by slaying a crowded field of traditional Republican opponents to win the Party's nomination. Then, in the general election, he defeated the Democrat Party "Clinton Machine" and "the most qualified person to ever run for president," in the words of one eminent politician, and her "Blue Wave" to win the election. During all this time, he, like 95% of his fellow Americans, had no reason to know if Finland was a part of Russia or not. He was a businessman and entertainer...not a Georgetown University Foreign Service graduate toiling away in the bowels of the State Department, awaiting his next promotion up the government bureaucracy, for whom knowing the history of Russian and Finland, and where Finland even is on a map, is an important piece of information.

2. See my answer above.

3. Because throughout its history, the United States has grown by territorial acquisition...often at the point of a gun or by purchase. The fact that Greenland is a United Nations mandate territory given to Denmark to administer, and therefore not an integral part of Denmark nor an independent country, it was reasonable for President Trump to explore whether or not Denmark may wish to give up this mandate, or if the people of Greenland might want to form some type of union/relationship with the United States. [In the event of any future polar conflicts with China/Russia, the United States will seize it in any case.]

4. Because he saw Bill Clinton do it for decades so he thought it was an okay thing to do.

5. Because scientific studies have shown that people perceive more discomfort in extremely cold temperatures and climates than hot ones. It is also safer in extremely hot weather than extremely cold one because it is easier to avoid excessive heat and keep the body cool than it is extremely cold weather or keep the body warm.

6. Because there are companies that are working on just such therapies to treat and/or prevent covid virus infections and those with Covid-19 disease...not injection or injestion of disinfectants per se, but diffusion of medicines or other therapeutics directly through the nose/nasal cavity or the lungs. (An example being the just announced nasal spray therapy from UCSF Medical Center yesterday.)

7. Because everyone in America is entitled to their own opinion...it's not North Korea, where everyone has to have the same opinion on everything.

I hope this answered your questions.

What a silly post. So you are saying legal American immigrants are not American??  The statement made was America has the most Nobel awards, and you spent time digging up that link ( that I did not read) to make a claim that statement is false?? What is wrong here? Are legal immigrants in the United States not American in your book of links? So silly!

It does mean they most likely received their education abroad, and also the start of their careers.

It also indicates that they felt the US could offer them the best opportunities.

Defend what? I am giving a possible, likely, explanation, with a positive and a negative regarding the US. I call that balanced.

An inflammatory post removed.  Please stay on topic.
