On Sunday (August 23), water from Yom River overflowed and entered Ban Wang Hin village, leaving people stranded in their houses. The rescue team had to send boats to evacuate people who lived in one-storey houses and residents of houses with more than two stories asked for help to move their belongings to a higher level. The Sukhothai Provincial Electricity Authority also had to cut electricity supply in the areas after more than 20 electrical posts collapsed.
