The prime minister said Mr Predee reported that he had a stroke and the reason forced the resignation. Mr Predee had assisted in the work of the government and the prime minister and despite the resignation, the government could continue with its work because regulations allowed relevant officials to take acting roles and a deputy prime minister overseeing economic affairs could also take charge, Gen Prayut said.
