Anyone out there with a bit of knowledge on the headlight beams for this truck? I am having a bit of a problem getting the nearside low beam to adjust horizontally. (Left to right).

There are two adjusters per headlight, one upper corner that adjusts the up and down, and one adjuster nearer to the grill that supposedly adjusts the horizontal aim.

I have no problem getting the up and down sorted, but it does not seem to matter how much I turn the horizontal screw, it does not seem to move the beam pattern.

A couple of questions -

1: Is the beam pattern different for the nearside and the offside? (My nearside concentrates the brightest part of the beam near the centre, then has a rising pitch as it goes further to the nearside, (This would seem sensible as it illuminates the side of the road further on the left hand side but still concentrates the main light to the front of the truck.

2: The offside beam is different, it is symmetrical which again seems sensible as if the beam was set correctly, you would not want a portion curving up further to the right else it would blind oncoming traffic.

3: Anyone know which way turning the 10 mm BOLT (NOT the screwdriver adjuster) on the horizontal bolt moves the beam? Like I say, I am not seeing any movement even after 5 or 6 turns.

So turning the nearside bolt with a 10mm socket clockwise would to me seem like it should move the nearside lamp to the right?

As usual, all help is appreciated.

I have looked over so much useless info on Google from all these so called "Experts" but they usually fail to say if the vehicle is LHD or RHD. Mine obviously is RHD.

Sort it at a Cockpit or B quik outlet, only little cost.

Ah OK, thanks, didn't realise BQuick did headlights, never seen any lens gear at the ones I have used. Cockpit might be worth a look as there are a couple not too far from me and I have never used them before. The only thing with some of these places is they tend to BS a load of stuff they say you need that frankly you don't.

Besides, I would rather learn to get them set up myself just for the fun. As I said, up and down is fine, I just hoped someone could point me in the right direction (pun) to get the left to right set up correctly.

I have a similar 2012 Vigo. The headlights still point in the same direction as when it was new.

That is good to know, thanks. No need for headlight adjusters on your vehicle then, see if the dealer will give you a refund?

Cockpit in Sukhothai adjusted my beams from headlights because when the truck was loaded it was too high for nighttime driving.

As for the likes of a person like you, go and get xxxxx.

You seem to have a poor grasp of English, or maybe my English confused you? I was simply wanting to do the work myself. Bquik always tried to pull a fast one, selling <deleted> I do not need,  Cockpit, well. I have never used them before. no need for the attitude!

Just asking a question. My wife has some good meds from her Doctor that helps with menstrual problems and hormone imbalance, drop me a PM I can pass on the contact info. pretty cheap too!

Both headlights should dIsplay the same beam pattern. Looking forward from the driver's seat the pattern is flat-topped to the right of the beam centre and kicks up to the left of centre.

If the adjuster is having no effect then it has possibly come adrift from the reflector assembly. Best to remove the light unit, remove the bulbs and investigate further. The adjusters run in a nylon retainer and they can break or crack. New adjuster screws with nylon block are cheap - less than 2GBP in UK

"Always pull a fast one".....????

Sunbeam, or is it light beam, to adjust your headlights will not turn into a brake reline or a set of tyres...................????

Agree with that.

When I did it only needed very little to move the beam, less than one turn if I remember correctly, 5 or 6 turns is way too much sounds like something has come adrift.

Fiddly job to get in there for adjustment,

Thanks for that that is pretty much what I am seeing! Only the nearside is a bit further left. appreciated! Hopefully it is as you say and it has maybe come adrift - If I was to keep turning in one direction, should the adjuster bottom out and get resistance? That would sort of prove what was going wrong. I.E If I keep adjusting and there is no stop or limit it kind of proves what you are saying.

Thanks again, that diagram is great, it covers everything!

Yes, after turning for a while the optical assembly will reach its adjustment limit and you will feel it go tight. Do not force it...

Don't know if this is the same year as yours but might be helpful. It's i n tagalog with no English subtitles but you'll get the idea and you can pick up odd words in English.
