Better you take it to ACER in Chonburi than some cowboy in Pattaya. Trust in my words.

Just merge the cost of the taxi into the price of the repair.

Tukcom area is the way to go.

If you want to do it yourself, pull the power plug out, take the back cover off and replace any big transistors. This still may not fix the problem.

Tukcom area is definitely not the way to go, unless you have no other choice.

จ9Hi

it could be the backlight.

LCD screens use a backlight.

A simple check is with the laptop turned on shine a torch onto the screen.

If you can see an image it's the backlight.

A bit fiddly to replace so most repairers simply replace the whole screen.

Another check- if your laptop has a HDMi output connect it to LCD TV.

If you are in Pattaya I can recommend a shop on Thepprassit road just down from the Buffalo market.

The OP reported he is having issues with an acer Predator z35 external HDMI display

The suggestions about checking for bad backlight are good.

Many of these displays, as well as large screen TVs, are now designed as just three main modules: Display Panel, Main electronics board, and Power supply board. An Acer Service Center will just swap out the defective module. A smaller independent shop might be cheaper if the problem is a known repairable component issue.
