Popular Post webfact
PM asked to temporarily remove police involved in helping Red Bull heir from active service File photo Thailand’s Institute for Judicial Reform has urged Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha temporarily to relieve from active service all police officers involved in helping Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya escape prosecution over a fatal hit-and-run case eight years ago. Pol Senior Sergeant Major Wichian Klanprasert was killed in the accident and his body was dragged about 100 metres along the Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok by Vorayuth’s Ferrari. The institute also called on the Attorney General to suspend from active duty a prosecutor, who was heard speaking in an audio clip with a group of police officers, allegedly pressuring a forensics expert, Pol Lt-Col Thanasith Taengchan, to change the estimate of the Ferrari’s speed, from 177kph to under 80kph, in order to avoid a charge of reckless driving causing death to another person. Popular Post GinBoy2
How about getting them to flip on those that gave them the bribes in the first place and charge then with obstruction of justice? Hold on, what am I thinking about, this is Thailand. OK send the underlings to prison, bad people that they are, but the 'good' people just had a bad day! 22 1

Popular Post ChrisY1
The family paid the fare....obviously a very costly deal that has now involved many people in government...police, govt officials etc..... The issue of closing out this nonsense case, is now being thrown into Prayuth' lap.....how he manages this without too much controversy will be interesting to follow. Apirat is in the background awaiting his turn. Edited September 14, 2020 by ChrisY1

madmitch
This could actually put the PM in a difficult position. He actually has a difficult decision to make. He doesn't like being told what to do hence the word "asked" rather than something rather stronger. It'll be interesting to see how he handles this request.
