Five people were injured in separate incidents as many trees fell as a result of tropical storm Noul at the Phu Soi Dao national park that straddles Phitsanulok and Uttaradit provinces in the north of Thailand.

One tree fell on a tent resulting in two injuries.

In other incidents three people were treated for injuries after slipping.

Park chief Kamjorndech Sriwilai ordered 265 tourists to leave the area immediately and declared it shut.

Staff were clearing fallen pine trees from paths to aid their departure, he said.

Continually heavy rains and winds battered the area from early Sunday, reported Sanook.
