How are the plans for the Thai nuclear power station going?

I drove past this a few minutes after it happened, ambulances speeding there from all directions, seems to be carnage. Basically its the continuation of Lat Krabang not too far from the Polo Club.

At least three people were killed when an explosion from a PTT gas pipe ripped through Bang Bo district in Samut Prakan on Thursday afternoon.

PTT said it was collaborating with local rescue staff to aid victims of the blast.

Residents living nearby fled as the explosion sparked a fire that spread quickly.

Students and staff from the local Preng Wisuttha Tipbodee School were evacuated as firefighters arrived to control the blaze.

Two elderly women were among the three victims killed by the blast, with 28 others sent to hospital with injuries.

PTT said the cause of the explosion was being investigated, adding it would take responsibility for the damage to property and life.

Gas-Explosion-Samutr-Prakarn-1.jpg

Three people were killed and about 28 others injured when NGV gas leaked from a pipeline and ignited, opposite a temple in the Bang Bo district of Samut Prakan province earlier today, before 1pm.

Officials from PTT Plc, which owns the pipeline, are at the scene, in Preng subdistrict, to discover the cause of the gas leak at a gas station.

Meanwhile, officials from the Department of Pollution Control have been on site, to check for hazardous substances which may have been left at the scene of the explosion and which may threaten the health of people in the neighborhood.

Poor maintenance or poor management.....?"....Poor maintenance is because of poor management, in fact good management is the vital key to all aspects of all business's.  BUT...a good management 'team' need to be well educated & qualified.

My condolences to the families of the dead & injured. That said pipelines do not explode by themselves. Therefore either the work permit, method statement or the risk assessment wasn’t adhered to somebody somehow caused this accident.

It seem to me that everything Thai "engineers" construct eventually blows up or malfunction in other ways.

Do they even have a legit Engineer Degree from a university.

Too early to rule anything out.

What is a risk assessment, method statement and work permit in Thailand?

Probably all "written" on small pieces of paper with a picture of someone important on.

Headline says "Kills 3 amd injures 28"

Yet from the article underneath:-

"Samut Prakan residents witnessed a blazing inferno when a gas pipe allegedly exploded in an industrial estate in Bang Bo district on Thursday. No casualties or injuries were reported as of press time."

Inappropriate speculation, but Thai bashing is seen as quite acceptable to the majority, justified or not.
