Is Elon Draining the Swamp on Government Spending or Is He the Swamp?
Lol! This contract was made and started by the Trump administration in 2018! Another ridiculous MAGA fake scandal! It's on usaspending.com, just like the other MAGA fake scandals! https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_FA865018C7886_9700_-NONE-_-NONE- And that's the subject of the contract: ACTIVE SOCIAL ENGINEERING DEFENSE (ASED) LARGE SCALE SOCIAL DECEPTION (LSD) North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)Code 54 : Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services 5417: Scientific Research and Development Services 541715: Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Nanotechnology and Biotechnology) Product or Service Code(PSC) RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AC: C – National Defense R&D Services AC62: R&D- DEFENSE SYSTEM: ELECTRONICS/COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT (APPLIED RESEARCH/EXPLORATORY DEVELOPMENT) What is social engineering Defense? “The Active Social Engineering Defense (ASED) program aims to develop the core technology to enable the capability to automatically identify, disrupt, and investigate social engineering attacks. If successful, the ASED technology will do this by actively detecting attacks, intervening in communications between users and potential attackers, and coordinating investigations into the source of the attacks,” said the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). https://www.klzradio.com/2025/02/07/u-s-military-under-scrutiny-over-9-million-payment-to-reuters-news-agency-worthy-news-investigation/ -

Changes With Wise Cards And Why I Opened A Revolut Account
A while ago, I noticed a feature on my Wise cards that others didn’t seem to have. Called "Spending," it appears in my card settings for every Wise card in my account. This feature lets me select specific currency balances and Jars for each card to spend from and disable some if I want to. However, I recently learned that I was part of a test group, which explains why some users didn’t have access to it. Unfortunately, Wise has now decided to actually discontinue this feature starting in April. Below is the message I received from them today: In addition to the change mentioned above, I’ve been reading more reports online of Wise accounts being shut down for seemingly arbitrary reasons. While these cases are anecdotal since I don’t know all the specifics, it still makes me feel like I may not always be on steady ground with Wise, especially since I rely on my Wise account for part of my daily spending and some monthly transfers. Because of this, I decided to open a Revolut account last week as a backup. I regularly deal with quite a few different currencies through Wise, and while it has been a cost-effective and convenient tool in many ways, losing access to all these currencies, especially while traveling, would be a major inconvenience. To mitigate the risks with Wise, I now have Revolut as a backup spending option if I need it while traveling. It offers similar features and currency exchange rates to Wise, though its bank transfer fees can be significantly higher. So before any trip, I plan to link my Revolut account to one of my real bank debit cards so that I can quickly add funds to the Revolut account for instant spending if needed. While I don’t intend to use it as my daily driver like I do with Wise, having an alternative gives me peace of mind in case something unexpectedly prevents me from accessing or spending my funds through Wise at any time. Has anyone else using Wise set up a Revolut account as well? Do you use both, or have you switched to mainly just one? -

BREAKING NEWS Trump Signals Potential Meeting with Putin in Saudi Arabia Amid Ukraine War Talks
The G7 member economies that the USA has declared financial hostilities with, will indeed step up to look after themselves and that will come with a pivot to China as you mention. Canada will be forced into selling more oil to China, and perhaps an eventual switch away from the USA. It will move to normalize relations with China and build stronger economic ties to latin america. The EU will normalize with China as well and look to replace USA trade with Chinese and Asian trade growth. The end result is that China's influence will grow, while the USA's shrinks. The USA is alienating both Canada and the EU. The impact will be seen in the decades to come as the USA's largest trading partners turn away from the USA. It won't matter to most Trump voters, because a large number will be dead by then. The influence of the USA will be like a fireworks that launches, explodes with great force and then comes crashing down in a puff of smoke. -

Water meter taken
Bought some land in the NE of Thailand some 2 years ago, the Mrs has been using the neighbours water supply and paying overs for the right to do so, the previous owner of the land has taken the original water meter (belonging to the local water authority) with them and refuses to give it back unless we pay them. The local water authority seems to be telling us that it is up to us to somehow get the meter back from the previous owner. Just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences and can suggest any solutions. Do not want to get a solicitor involved but may be necessary. Realise it was silly to purchase the land without first ensuring the water meter was there. Thanks for any constructive comments. -
