My first thought was that the candidate who gets the most votes will win.

Then I remembered what happened last time.

I actually think that Mr Biden will win, but Mr Trump will refuse to accept defeat.

I can imagine, come the 20th of January next, Mr Trump, defiant in the Oval Office, a chair jammed under the door handle, tweeting about "Sleepy Joe" spending his evenings in October driving around stuffing fraudulent ballot papers into post boxes!

He's done nothing in 47 years ????

That's one way of looking at it. But if you check things out from the 'damage done' angle, then Trump managed way more in a mere 4 years.

There is perhaps a "silent majority", a term once used by Nixon I think, who are too embarrassed to proclaim that they will vote for Trump. Trump is not only battling the Dems, but the MSM, Twitter, Google, FB etc, who are quietly manipulating their followers in the way they do with their marketing.

However, I don't believe it's a slam dunk for Biden, despite the polling results to this stage.

Perhaps we must "read behind the headlines"? I was very interested in what a financial commentator had to say the other day.  PA was won by 26k votes in 2016.  Only recently, over 260k new gun permits were issued in PA, possibly a proxy speaking to the fear which people are now living in, in the USA, from BLM rioting, looting, vandalism and general violence.  Not to say some of the wild and extreme leftist "policy positions" being floated by the Dems.

One can presume they may be Trump voters!

He just forgets what they are ???? Biden would be a non president.

That won't really matter if he has an effective team.

Not something that the last four years has really showcased, most of the key players didn't last long enough for their headed notepaper to be delivered!

If america is not smart enough to choose another president than the current idiot, they deserve everything that is coming to them and some. NO compassion from me!!!! I do have a few american friends  I care about, but I don't give FF about any republican, as they have given enough proof over the years that they just don't have brains.
To my dear american friends, please stay safe and keep an eye out for all the idiots around ya ????

Goalless draw after regulation.

Still stalemated after extra time.

Goes to penalties where Trump skies one of his shots while Biden gets one in off the post (after Trump's unsuccessful VAR challenge).

I selected number 3 but I hope hope hope it's a very clear, convincing Biden win.  Anything less and Trump will completely muddy the waters with his lies and he will refuse to leave. Just yesterday he said it would be 'iffy' if he would leave if he loses.  Unbelievable him saying that and BEFORE the election!  Imagine how he will act AFTER the election when he doesn't have to try to restrain himself and can go into full tilt, unhinged, stark raving mad mode.

It's scary he has been laying the ground work to not leave for months now--especially his lying attacks over and over on absentee voting.  It's clear that if any of the states have close outcomes he will dispute the results for them, declare the entire election a sham, and demand that the Supreme Court select the winner. ( See the 2000 election.)  Unfortunately, by election we'll likely have a conservative majority on the court and he might just get his way.  <deleted>.

By any objective measure, Trump will have a clear and complete win.

Just have a look at the crowd response to him vs. Biden.

Really? I think TV might be a bigger medium to judge things by other than super spreader orgy's that Trump throws

I voted already so I can have an opinion. Trump said the other day at his rally, 12 more years. Just say no to all dictators even ones in the making. Both choices are terrible ones. So pick the lesser of the evil for the better of the US and then hope next time someone really good steps up. There is no good way out of this. Need to be term limits.

Be honest, I think Biden will will, but it will only be a 1 term presidency. The sheer amount of tax rises that will be happening in the next few years (in all countries) to cover the cost of furlough and support, lockdown, unemployment and other health measures is going to render every government in power (unless a military one) completely unelectable to the public at the following  election.

imagine the country that identifies itself as "exceptional" taking two years to select a trump vs. a biden.    IMHO the two "parties" are virtually identical on foreign policy and both are subservient to major corporations on domestic policy matters.   and the american media is nothing but a propaganda organ for the political and business elites..    what a country!

Yeah, last time the polls were off by a bit.  In some swing states, she lost by very small numbers.

They've done some work on the polls, so they seem to be better.  But last time, she was up by very small margins.  All within the margin of error.  This time, Biden is up by quite a bit.  Everything's pointing to a blowout, but won't know for sure until the fat lady sings.

They are saying to watch Florida.  They will announce quickly and if Trump lost there, it's over.  No republican president has won if they lost Florida.

One of the better sites for polling info.

I believe you are thinking of Ohio regarding your 'No republican president has won if they lost...' comment.

A Biden win is a loss for Latinos, Blacks, Asians, Whites, and all other ethnicities.

A Trump win is a win for all Americans.

Trump by a landslide.

Who cares?  Some elderly man will win it, after telling a pack of lies to the easily impressed. Just for Gods sake make it stop.

Reading this post a few times gives me a few questions.
