French Woman Contracted COVID after Quarantine

Except many Thai hospitals test suspicious pneumonia cases for covid-19. Most serious cases go to hospital and even a few covid-19 cases would light up like a Christmas tree. I doubt a lot of people are dying of covid-19 unnoticed.

Spot on, rabas. You can't tell me that there are many if any going to hospitals with them symptoms and not being tested and dying from Covid and nothing being said. There are too many people involved like doctors, nurses and other family members for it not to be made public. People will talk.

Because of the headline of this post a lot of people think that this woman is a french born citizen when the facts are she is a Thai born citizen who is married to a French man and now also has French citizenship and it is because of her Thai citizenship that she is allowed back into Thailand. She is not a French tourist like some think she is. She is a dual citizen.

Because Quarantine, whether it is State Quarantine or ASQ, is at the forefront of the Thai Policy for controlling Covid, this Lady was never going to have contracted the Virus within one of these Facilities.

After all, this is Thailand, and whatever the controls are, they cannot possibly be wrong, or flawed.

And that's how the media projects a false narrative that promotes fear and xenophobia in all it's gory splendour.
Slick, huh?

well someone said that their quarantine was "professional" and i very much doubted that, as usual its all just a bumbling fluster cluck. As usual there are just so many questions that are never answered. So the Thai STV will just become a mess, you can go to great lengths to ensure that you are clear, safe, ready to travel, extraordinary paperwork, testing, certificates, payments, flight bookings to arrive in Covid Shangri-La, devoid of Covid where you can stay for 9 months, free, safe from Covid and enjoying the clean beaches, thats the dream they are selling to the world, but alas with most things, very quickly the dream has been shattered. This woman's child and husband are now being forcefully isolated and Covid insurance will not pay for isolation when you don't actually have Covid. Thais on your flight are not tested, the hotel staff are not tested (and obviously not cleaned). Obviously you can wish her and her family well, but this will be a very expensive lesson for this particular family and people considering an STV should take note. The Thai answer will be to tighten quarantine and make it more prison like for the detainees, but they certainly won't clean more vigorously, test all the people involved along the chain, nor check and certify your fellow Thai passengers sitting next to you on the plane. "Professional" is never a word that should be bandied about in LOS.

For anyone that thinks there is no more Covid in Thailand I have one really nice bridge for sale. Everyone is in denial because they are so desolate to get back the tourism industry.

"desolate"? Well I suppose? ????

Is there any update as to how she managed to come to Thailand when the borders are closed to most foreigners?

She is not married to any Thai people.

She is a Thai national with French citizenship married to a Frenchman

The PCR test is nonsense. It is unreliable. "should not be used for diagnostical purposes" is even printed clearly on the package.

What a surprise, must be loads of positives walking around, but it was a mild infection for the French woman.

The French woman is also a Thai national, who even after feeling unwell on Samui , went shopping at Big C and 7 eleven. How irresponsible is that.

But at the moment, about 7.76 billion are not infected or 99.95% of the population.  That's not the picture the media and the "experts" and the Covid-choir want you to see.  They want to promote 40 million infections which is 0.05% of the population since the first recorded case in China.

After 11 1/2 months since the first Covid case and 99.95% of the world's population are just fine.
Where is the pandemic that's worth destroying the global economy for?  Wow folk - most of us have missed it.

You'll get no comparison via the media, only loud and continuous fear-mongering.

"French stupid - spend all the money - apparently they are enormously rich to have a residence in SAMUI" -
This is an excerpt from your post.

Maybe it's thanks to the rich or middle-class people, if there are employees
Besides, if this can help maintain some jobs, even part-time, and the protocol has been respected, why not.
You shouldn't be envious.
I hope this Frenchwoman is recovering from it and that it will only be a bad memory.

Apparently, according to previous posts on here ( one from a Moderator)  she is a Thai lady married to a Frenchman, but it suits the media to call her "French"!

you all are assumining that the french woman was already infected before coming to Thailand.

and all of you believe the government has done a great job from notspreading the virus betwen Thais.

It is obvious that she was infected by either  a local person or in the plane to Kho Samui

there are no distancing on the plane

No one seems to know or even want to know, but the French woman is in fact Thai with a French husband. Thus she has dual nationality.

In the UK currently 141 deaths/day. Thats over 51000 deaths/year. Try those numbers for Thailand.

Those numbers is close to Thailand's road carnage. Still the dumb asses seems to think it's more important to wear a facemask than a helmet..????

If there were asymptomatic people wandering around the community they would be spreading it to others. Some of them would become sick and some would die. Your argument has no logic. Where are the overflowing hospitals? Where are the dead bodies?

From what i am understanding, the Thai's are not testing for Covid.  My partner in Thailand has presented to both Khukan hospital and Sisaket hospital with symptoms that here in Australia would demand an immediate Covid test. She was sent way both times with "tablets"  told to rest ?  If this is happening all over Thailand , its little wonder that they have no Covid.

Lao and North Korea get a better score... But for North Korea it is maybe possible because the border is very close already before the COVID did exist.

Come on - people have to eat! Just because you feel a bit under the weather doesn't mean that you have Covid for goodness' sake!

Ooops, I just sneezed - better stop in the house for 2 weeks on my own - just in case!

COVID is everywhere my friend, don't scare, there is not much more death world wide than last year. COVID can be compared more to season flue for death rate than Ebola is.

Don't let you dominate by the fear communication. COVID target subject is more about fear and control than ever.

People have said that there is a lot of mixing in them quarantine hotels.

In some, the people go down to eat together in the same restaurant.

That is for other countries.

I don't know about Thailand but there is probably a lot of mixing too.

If she was married to "any Thai people" she'd be a polygamist!

P.S. She is not a "foreigner"

3.62 extra deaths a day per province over 6 months (1.81 a day over a year).

Very different population distribution (mass internal migration to rural areas at outset of emergency).

Very few in old peoples homes so many deaths at home, in relative isolation and un-diagnosed.

Age relationship important when considering that roughly 88% of deaths in UK are elderly (many concentrated in "hothouse" care-homes) and even so only represent about 1 in 400 of the +65 population of UK

Crematoriums in temples every few kms.

In a land where everybody "notices" but prefers, for a variety of reasons (draconian silencing regulations/defamation laws/social convention) to act like they haven't.

Thailand vs UK?

"Holistically" speaking........Chalk and Cheese.

Perhaps he is talking about Deleted Clovis the first, the old old French Deleted of the 5th century, from the Merovingian dynasty?

PS: sorry, a bot there changed a word by "Deleted". You should be able to know which word by the context deduction to know who is Clovis 1st, born in 466 in Tournai (french city) and dead in 511 in Paris, the son of Childeric 1st.
