I thought it was a rule of nature in Thailand, when a ship is about to sink, the captain is the first to escape.

  • Well you gotta hand it to Prayut, at least he has a sense of humour.???????????? The comment made by him should have read...... I will not run away from problems i created.

  • Helping the poor? Steven, you do come out with some unbelievable rhetoric at times but even you must surely realise that helping the poor is not on Prayut's agenda!

Well it's good to see that the Gen Khun Prayut Chan O Cha has made his point be known in that he will not be stepping aside, so all the farang who thought otherwise will need to go back and think of another excuse.

He has far too much support to even consider in the slightest to stepping down.  imo

Well he has your support anyway and that should keep him amused for ages.

Only if the Captain is Italian.

what worries me is that it could cause a rift in Thai society. We used to say that Thais treat each other as family members and respect one another. I don’t want to see this culture disappear because of misunderstanding between generations,” he said.

It's always a misunderstanding isn't it.

Wait my people...im still mansions  hunting in ????????

That's rich. He created the crisis in the first place.

Prayut came to power taking advantage  of a rift between the North/Norteast and Bangkok/The South. After 6 years in power that rift still exists but he has managed to add a rift between old and young, not to mention widening the wealth gap further.

I wonder what are the problems to do with the economy he said he is working on and what solutions he is coming up with after sacking his entire economic team and replacing them with people who don’t mind working under Palang Pracharat after getting a budget passed with the finance portfolio vacant.

No mention of any of the extensive reforms to police and other areas he promised when he seized power.

Thais get bored with PMs easily and like to give  a new one a chance every couple of years. No one is listening to Prayut any more because they see him as staying on well past his sell by date with very little to show for it.

“However, what worries me the most is the outbreak of Covid-19. I want every party to be extra careful as I don’t want to see the country go back into lockdown as in April,” he warned.

This sounds like yet another threat.

Paranoia always hits before the downfall. Check out what Hitler did in the last days.

And he only had a 10yr plan not a 20yr one.

Young people are part of Thailand but there are many many other voters out there.

I hope those young voters, and hopefully also some of the older voters, will establish their own party with honest politicians who want to work for all Thais and Thailand. Please not another billionaire.

Now they should establish their new party and show to the Thai people what they want and work out their plans. If they do it right then many, maybe even a majority, will vote for them in the next election.

Trying to find an honest politician is like trying to find a hen with a tooth.
