Tires for CBR500 - IRC IZS99 or Mitas Touring Force

Featured Replies

Hey, Im looking for good road tires for my Honda CBR500. Mostly for safety reasons, my current tires are old and suck. Im not really looking for great longevity as well because I plan to upgrade my bike at some point, so safety and grip are the main concern.

I was checking around and found two best options:

- IRC IZS99 for around 4,900 baht

- Mitas Touring Force for 8,000 baht

Mitas has good opinions and IRC has pretty mixed.

Is it work spending more money on getting the Mitas ones, or its not worth it and its completely fine to get IRC?

Thanks!

I  also see Pirelli Diablo Rosso II as an option, around 8k baht as well.

Some not so good review regarding the IRC.

Yea I was about to say the same. I have the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II on my CBR500R and am really happy with it. Got a good deal as the Rosso III exists already. Just need to make sure one gets a set that's not too old (max a few months). I don't save a few k on tires, too important.

Look at Dunlop really good tyres stocked at Honda dealerships.

Priced roundabouts 6.1/2.K.

I just went for the stock Dunlop D222 tires on my CB500F when I had to change - really good edge to edge!!! Or the newer models come with Michelin Road 5. Have a look at those, too!
