U.S. election betting odds tighten but still favour Trump over Biden

Well the headline for a start: Trump says he'll go to Supreme Court to stop votes from being counted.

While their own quotes show he never said this:  "We want all voting to stop. We don’t want them to find any ballots at four o’clock in the morning and add them to the list."

“We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!” Trump tweeted shortly after Biden’s remarks. His tweet was later labeled by Twitter as containing misleading content.

And on what basis does Trump claim voting goes on? Or that votes will be cast afterwards?

So in short, popular vote is just a waste of time in the US elections

Pretty much when you think of the fact that most of the States give there electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote while others do not, case in point is how the Electoral college votes were split in Nebraska.  That 1 vote that went to Biden could be the decisive vote if he picks up Wi, Mi, and Nevada as it will put him right at 270, however that is if he can pull the votes needed from the remainder to be counted in those States.  Nevada is close and there are 6 votes to be picked up there.

So tell me.

Assuming biden gets wisconsin as he leads and only detroit votes to be counted which is dem.

Biden only needs either michigan or PA or NC to win. But trump needs all of them.

Is that correct?

I don't know if it's correct. However, In case it's correct, according to Fox News, Biden is likely to win.

It's a very interesting feature of Fox News website.

We're almost there, I guess in a few hours Biden will be allowed to declare victory

Nevada has many more votes to count and will now wait until Thursday to report on their final Tally.  In essence those 6 votes will be held up.  Per the Wall Street Journal. Can that now make Nevada the final swing State...this is a nail biter.

Nevada’s Election Division said it wouldn’t release further ballot results until Thursday. Joe Biden held a slim lead over President Trump in the state, but a significant number of votes had yet to be reported.

I think Biden gonna win Michigan, which will give him 270 electoral votes, but I have a strong feeling he's gonna take North Carolina as well

Probabilities are quickly improving for Biden: it's now 93% in Michigan and Wisconsin. The probabilities for Nevada are remaining stable at 70%.

The remaining votes left in Nevada are postal votes. These were quite heavily for Biden in the first lot that were counted today. It will take a reversal in that for Trump to catch up.

Biden needs to win three of the four states of Nevada, Wisconsin and tough ones Michigan and North Carolina from those postal and early votes.

Gonna be tight. And could get very ugly.

There are still 6 swing states undecided, and Biden needs to win 2 of them apart from Wisconsin which is in his pocket already, Trump has to win another 4 states

With Nevada, Arizona & Wisconsin practically in the bag for Biden, he needs only either Michigan or Georgia with the postal ballots which are heavily in his favour & he reaches the magic 270.

Has been a fascinating day watching the Biden almost-sure thing turn into a Trump almost-sure thing and now in the process of turning back to Biden. So the virtues of steady and predictable win out over the virtues of disruption.

Fox News predict a win for Biden in Michigan with probability of 95%, so it's also in the bag.

Interesting that the postal votes - apparently in most states - are SO heavily pro-Biden/pro-Democrat.

I guess the Trump kind of voter doesn't travel far from home. Which maybe explains quite a lot!

The explanation is Trump’s efforts to politicize the methods of voting, mistrust of postal votes   was, like wearing a mask, made an article of faith by Trump.

His intent, vote suppression by means of disrupting the mail while encouraging his own supporters to vote in person.

Much of it to do with people heeding the warnings about the pandemic.  You know, the one Trump ridicules.

Ha ha. Yes, so the Biden voters at least travel in their minds.

The salient point is who bothers to vote.

Yes, but HOW they vote also dictates how the running tallies go through the day and the night and the next day ie it affects the timing of the various counts.
