Yes, one wonders why the margin was so small in many states when we've been told for 4 years that Trump is the worst human being to walk on planet earth president in history. Apparently Trump got many more votes than in 2016, so increased his popularity.

Yeah so good he only got one term and beaten by a geriatric.

The media have allot to answer for. Disgusting filth.

A President who paid off women to keep them quiet, boasted of defrauding contractors, said POW's were losers, sprays insults on Twitter like confetti at a wedding, endangered people for photo opportunities, held rallies which helped spread coronavirus against medical advice - that's not disgusting?

You have a very peculiar set of values.

Trump, who was golfing when the networks made their calls for his rival, immediately accused Biden of "rushing to falsely pose as the winner."

Riiiiiiiiight, but it was totally alright when Trump declared himself the winner on the 5th of November without any actual evidence, unlike Biden! A hypocrite to the very end! So delusional! I can’t wait for the 20th of January when he’ll be finally out of office!

Actually not true.  Socialist Eugene V. Debs ran for president in 1920 while imprisoned for opposing WWI and got a million votes.

USA law even more crazy then I thought was possible.

Yes the base is very solid. They showed their support. That five million votes topping trumps's , soon to be, did however not want him.

Historic defeat, historic one term President. Integrity is still the measure in America.

The margin was small in states that Trump won last time. Does that tell you anything? Trump didn't win in any state that he lost in last time. Not one. And he lost in several states that he won last time. And as someone else pointed out there was a record setting turnout for both candidates. Remember those claims of Trump supporters that the size of his rallies proved he was more popular than Biden? Last time I checked Biden got about 4 percent more voters than Trump. It is possible to be enthusiastically against someone, too.

One sailor... kept adamantly declaring the rally counts showed a trump victory. He is not here anymore so maybe he is spending the necessary time reflecting. However the rally's did drum more trump support than 2016 but not in any final outcome.

It's true that Trump brought out his supporters in large numbers.  But he also brought out Americans who hate his guts.  Clearly, the latter outnumbered the former.

He already has.Although until all legal challenges have been exhausted, the result has not been declared officially and think can take until Dec 10th or there abouts

Sadly, hatred and toxicity seem to be part and parcel of the American fabric nowadays. The rest of the world can only hope Biden and Harris can achieve the healing they spoke of. Trump never would, he thrives on it.

The other thing to note there is that number is going to grow substantially by the time all the remaining votes are counted. For example, in California where Biden has collected 2:1 votes on Trump they still have something like 7 million votes to count, and there are still close to 2 million votes to count in New York where Biden has a +13% advantage. When it's all said and done Biden will likely have received something near +10% more votes than Trump.

Will the President be able to resist the far left progressive calls

I've seen comments like this mentioned quite a few times and independent observers from around the world will gladly state that the American Democratic party is centre-right to centre, whereas trump supporters will refer to them as "commies" and talk about "far left progressive calls".

Now this is a genuine post, not trying to create an upset, but would somebody kindly tell me what type of far left progressive calls are being made? Or indeed what they mean.

I'll answer that for you............there's none.

It was just Trump and the GOP falling back on familiar tropes that resonate with a certain demographic in the US. Biden is not a socialist (in the true sense) and the Dems are not far left; unless you consider them diometrically opposite to Trump and the far-right Republicans. That's as far as 'far-left' goes.
Unlike Trump, Biden has been very clear with his manifesto and will bring about more centric solutions that favour the middle ground that the majority of Americans inhabit and not just cater to the rich and the fringe.

What I am hoping for though is just not to have to hear that buffoon and his psychotic tweeting and his backing of every conspiracy going again. I'm looking forward to a boring, predictable sane POTUS who can calm down 70 million Americans who for some reason thought that Trump deserved another 4 years. It's going to be a tough job but we in this time of disruption through Covid, a steady, sensible and boring man in the White House is what America and the world needs.

Seems everyone here is overcome with supreme confidence that nothing will come from a Supreme Court challenge.  It won't be me that his his balloon popped.

most of his lawsuits are considered frivolous, making allegations based on rumors with little or no evidence provided.  i expect they will be squanched in the state supreme courts, and the us supreme court will decline to hear them.

on the another hand, trump will likely prevail with the case against pennsylvania, as the state supreme court exceeded their authority by extending ballot acceptance by three days in opposition to the wishes of state legislatures.  unfortunately, as has been reported, the larger counties saw fewer than 500 ballots each arrive, the smaller counties none at all.

a couple thousand votes won't put trump over the top, and that's if the court makes a decision.  the new lady justice would (rightly) vote to overrule the state court, but will likely recuse herself, leaving it a split 4-4 decision with the state decision standing.

Yea your right already after emerging from the golf course bunker he's sounding off about being cheated etc .. most unbecoming when you look back out how past defeated President's have conducted thereselves with humility when engaging with their successor ..

Humility, LOL. You have a very short memory. Al Gore conceded on December 13, 2000 after a VERY hotly contested race, and that was just one close race, not 6, or 7.

You think this is just about Trump. It's actually about 70,000,000 people who voted for him. They don't want him to concede until it is determined only legal votes have been counted. He has an obligation to nearly half of the American voters. Fortunately GOP will keep the Senate and increase their numbers in the House.

Even if Trump loses, which is likely, you might see him back on 2024 (health willing) after running a media campaign for the next 4 years with his own media organisation. After the Democrats (Harris mainly as she'll soon be president) destroy the country as you know it over the next 4 years, it'll probably be a landslide.

The lawsuits are not frivolous even if they don't overturn the result, which admittedly is a very long shot. They are an important and necessary step to take in an election where much funny business has been seen.

The only 'funny business' seen was an incumbant POTUS calling a win before all the votes had been counted.

Life is a series of close calls held together by sighs of relief

I have only one point to make, the America people seem like at a equal divide and the country is in two half's maybe they should go back to North & South.

By the way is it maybe time for you to change your avatar? Do you have one with Trump sculking off into the sunset, shoulders down and crying like a baby?

Yeah, it will be a great 4 years. Already Australia is receiving serious threats from China that they will pay for their "misdeeds" (from the CCP's perspective). The Democrats under Obama were turning a blind eye to China's island building and military fortification. Now, the Democratic party is likely to cosy up with the CCP again and things are going to get out of control fast. They will facilitate China's rise to become the dominant world power.

So far, every one has been turfed out as groundless, apart from a partial win in Pennsylvania, which was futile in the final analysis.

The avatar you show - dancing with glee, or stamping with rage? Difficult to tell.
