Is True's 10gb free data restricted in some way?

I notice I can use the data on my phone, and also in a sim router to use Line. But not in a sim router with my web browser. The page just hangs like its loading but never loads.

True bundles 10gb free data when you have a home fiber plan. Does anyone know if that bundle has a restriction for internet usage? I know it's popular to allow social media apps but not full data in Thailand, i think that means there's no net neutrality.

We have TrueOnline Gigatex Fiber bundled with TrueMoveH 10GB Data.

The SIM is in the niece's phone and she uses it for YouTube, LINE, etc.

Sounds like an issue with your SIM Router.

I considered that but AIS works witht it. And the SIM router should support true and other carriers too

The SIM Router may support the Provider's SIM but not the Provider's Radio Frequency used by the local tower. (The 3+ mobile providers are frequency segregated, with some but not all having licenses to operate in the 450/700/850/900/1800/2100/2300 bands).  The SIM Router has to be able to operate in the same band used by the local tower for that provider.

AIS

DTAC

TrueMoveH

CAT

TOT

I see logos for True and others, do you still think it may be incompatible?

The product info shows TrueMoveH provider operating on B1(2100)/B3(1800)/B8(900), the device can only use B1(2100)/B3(1800)/B5(850) ...but not B8(900)

Under "Questions about this product" the seller recommends AIS, but says "OK" with other SIMs except TRUE (there are issues/problems).

So if your local TrueMoveH tower only has 900MHz capability (unlikely but possible) then the device won't work in your current area.

@RichCor, thank you, I guess that will explain it. Besides DTAC which I will try next, are 3BB or any others worth trying for mobile data?

Picking a mobile wireless provider is an independent, researched choice, usually based on local experience of:

  • Provider, signal strength and signal coverage availability
  • Package pricing
  • Local infrastructure speed and network congestion issues
  • Past positive/negative provider interactions, customer service response
  • Device compatibility ('bands' coverage, etc)

A provider that may be great in one city may be just horrible in a different service area. The 'usual' recommendation is to go with one of the top three (AIS, DTAC, TrueMove) as they have the best coverage and systems.
