A deputy at Thailand's computer crime police and a representative of SCB announced the arrest of four Thai youths from the south of Thailand aged 17-19 in an internet banking fraud.

There are so far ten victims and losses of about a million baht - others have been urged to come forward.

Pol Col Thanakorn Lertporncharoen said that the modus operandus of the gang was to identify victims on various internet forums who were complaining of ordering goods online but not having received them.

The gang would then pose as representatives of SCB out to help. They managed to secure personal data and one time passwords in this manner.

They then emptied the victims' accounts and transferred their money to their own.

The miscreants were from the south, all interested in technology who had finished school.

They used the money for online gaming and gambling.

Krit Phairotkiratikun, a security representative of SCB, said that customers are able to identify his bank's communications that have a green shield. People should never reveal their OTPs and the bank will never ask for them, he said.

I completely agree, they could ensure the good Generals residence offices are clean and that the computers are in good working order.  Maybe they could get time of for good behavior in repatriating the ill gotten gains from the Government.....awww who am I fooling, but no one.

Maybe they could start teaching classes in the slammer about computer fraud. Add it to the curriculum of weapon making and cooking.

What ever happened to the buried idea of them making bunk beds, was there a budget paid out for that?
