The UK should just cancel the talks. They don't want to agree to a reasonable deal with the EU. Ok, fine, then don't waste everybody's time. Boris and others always said no deal is better than a

I'm not a Brit but I thought this was pretty interesting:

Brexit-backing billionaire will build his SUV in France, not the UK

"Britain's richest man and Brexit supporter Jim Ratcliffe has abandoned plans to build a new SUV in the United Kingdom, dealing another blow to a car industry that has already been battered by the country's exit from the European Union and the pandemic.

Ratcliffe is the founder of Ineos, a chemicals company, and has a fortune worth nearly $28 billion, according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index. Ineos said in a statement on Tuesday that its first vehicle, the Grenadier 4x4, will be manufactured at a plant in Hambach, France, that the company is buying from Daimler's (DMLRY) Mercedes-Benz."

Of course they are. The EU has been milking the UK financially and depleting its fishing stocks for years. They are going to throw their rattle out of the pram until they get what they want.

The EU does not underestand the meaning of the word compromise. They are just arrogant politicians desperate to rape and pillage the UK because it has said that it wants to leave.

NB Had I been allowed to vote I would have voted to remain. So i am not a Brexiteer.

...., but the EU understands the meaning of "cherry picking" :whistling:

Huh?

Sorry - France - but already to go and bought from Daimler. The cost to move it all to Wales as originally proposed would be prohibitive, I suppose.

I was merely comparing your comments to your link. But as you say, stuff it.

You should know when you cut and paste from a news article your asked to post as plain text as that removes the large fonts and text that is in bold some of your posts take up an entire screen when viewing from a mobile phone

Cleaner streets work for me as well. US of G?

But that wasn't actually my question. You seemed to support the Spectator article advocating (temporary) membership of the EEA and all that entails. You ok with that? Paying into the EU coffers? Romanians and Bulgarians tipping up unannounced in the UK?

Just be good to know. After all, you knew what you were voting for?

What do you mean by 'No Deal'? Please try to be specific. Offer some examples. I've read the generalisations such as 'Taking back control'; 'Leaving the corrupt EU'; etc more times than I care to remember.

I rather suspect Johnson and the Government are doing what they have been told is best for the handful of hyper wealthy individuals who provided Brexit’s financial backing.

One would think the UK’s ( read Tory Government’s)  objections maintaining harmonized workers rights would raise some doubts amongst ordinary working Brits.

But no, freedom to reduce worker rights is dear to their hearts.

You have to admit that it's more than a bit ironic that a Brexiter is investing in an EU state post transition. It was a golden opportunity for him to put his 'money where his mouth is'.

You might be right about the reason. However, it rather begs the wider question about how many firms will relocate to the UK. I doubt that many EU firms will choose to make major investments in the UK. Doesn't bode well.

Still, we'll muddle through, eh? This comment is directed at the 'No deal' supporters rather than you.

It would appear France has problems following the rules

and when we compared that to the UK Infringement decisions 2233 records

"France wins more Infringement decisions against France"?

Anyway I have no problem here, fighting pollution and climate change are major regulations and must be enforced. And you know dynamic alignment is the real issue in Brexit talks, not fishing. And that not only Brexiteers want to access the single market without respecting the same rules as us, but they refuse that the ECJ enforce these rules.

.. but you might want to consider the most important infringements.

I guess you see what ticking time bomb I am referring to?

VAT fraud anyone?

Not very interesting for most, but more Remainer anti-Breixt fodder. It's hardly a major player in the auto world, something more akin to a pre-assembled kitcar company. There will probably never be as many on the roads as an average builder like Lotus or Morgan. Who is going to buy these LR look-a-likes anyway, because nobody even wants the new Slovakian Defenders?
