PHRAE (NNT) - Phrae has tightened measures controlling and preventing the spread of COVID-19, calling on people to be wary, but not to panic.

Mr Somwang Phuangbangpho, Phrae Governor, recently led a team of officials to inspect bus terminals, shopping malls, hotels and exhibitions. It was found that all of them were complying with COVID-19 prevention measures as people were wearing face masks, undergoing body temperature checks, washing their hands with alcohol gel, and had registered for service using the Thai Chana application.

Phrae has tightened its COVID-19 control measures, by being especially on alert to persons arriving from Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia. Village health volunteers, subdistrict headmen and village headmen have been instructed to watch out for people coming from risk areas and immediately notify public health officials or subdistrict health promotion hospital officials.

The Governor of Phrae has has called on people not to share unreliable information that could cause panic, but instead closely follow information from the government.

Both public and private hospitals and subdistrict health promotion hospitals are well equipped with disease control rooms, medical supplies and equipment, and can immediately accommodate local cases.

Gen. Singsuek Singphrai, Chairman of the Committee on Senators Meeting Upper Northern People Project, led a team to meet people and deliver the COVID-19 prevention equipment to public health and security agencies that perform duties at the checkpoint along the Arunothai village border, Chiang Dao district, Chiang Mai province. This checkpoint and the Rin Luang village checkpoint have collaborated with officials from various agencies to screen people under strict protocols, for the benefit of the broader community.
