Popular Post webfact
Every Covid patient in Thailand accounted for, confirms Disease Control Dept chief By THE NATION There are no unaccounted for Covid-19 cases in the seven provinces where newly infected persons travelled, Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of the Disease Control Department said on Friday. “So far, 49 cases have been found to be related to the people who crossed the border illegally from Myanmar. Of them, 30 have tested positive for Covid-19 in local state quarantine facilities, while the 17 who travelled to seven provinces before testing positive have infected two others so far. “Health officials in the seven provinces, namely Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phichit, Ratchaburi, Singburi and Tak traced and tested more than 6,000 persons suspected of having close contact with the infected. Other than the two who contracted Covid-19 from the Tachilek arrivals, there are no unaccounted for cases or infections resulting from an unknown origin. “This means that the seven provinces are safe,” Opas added. “No areas have been classified as risky, so people can travel locally without having to quarantine themselves when returning to their home province. “However, people still need to use protect themselves by wearing face masks, washing their hands regularly, avoiding crowded areas and using the Thai Chana platform to record their movements.” Source: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30399452 -- © Copyright The Nation Thailand 2020-12-11 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

sammieuk1
Looks like it's only ASQ where the daily figures pro rata seems to be the global epicentre of transmission but it is a Thai disease control chief that's saying everyone has been found ????
Popular Post Emdog
Headline says "patients accounted for" and then lesser headline says " no unaccounted cases"... Is a patient the same as a case.... what (if any) is the difference? I suppose you could have a case of someone identified as having the virus, but given no treatment so not a patient? So little testing happening that any numbers are essentially meaningless? Seems a variation on "Ask me not questions I tell you no lies" to "If we do no testing then we have no cases" 5

I wish we could get everybody singing from the same hymn sheet, or at least telling the same version of the truth, that way we would be better informed as to how big the problem really is. As this is Thailand probably no chance. 2

A statistically significant number of people think Covid is a hoax, an even bigger number think there is no need for masks and myriads of conspiracy theories abound. And all this not just in the general populous, but within various governing bodies of elected officials including the Senate and House of Representatives. I’d say Thailand is doing just fine, thanks very much. 4 1 2
johnarth
yes it seems the warm weather is still working its magic, and thank god for that not the fakers, it also seems us people living in Thailand are doing better than the rest of the world not because the prime minister said so, but because of the weather, death cases at a minim from all of us not just Thais thank you, just another fact
Popular Post Guderian
Let's not celebrate too quickly, the four-day weekend with a lot of travel to the northern provinces to admire the fog seas and enjoy the cool weather might have done a lot of damage that will only become apparent in the next week or two. I certainly hope that the guy is right, but when it comes to this virus you can't afford to let your guard down at all. 3

I certainly hope that the guy is right, but when it comes to this virus you can't afford to let your guard down at all. I read in another local news story that the amount of travelers availing themselves of this final "Songkran make-up" long weekend is less than on previous ones. The border crossings and quarantine avoidance is more concerning as Thailand's cool season prevails. Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan are battling third waves compounded with regular flu season. With Myanmar and Malaysia seeing upward trends and the broadly unverifiable or unreliable claims from Cambodia and Laos, vigilance is needed. I would hope that there is a plan to quickly reactivate local or regional lockdowns and reboot the mask, sanitizer and space initiatives if local infection clusters begin to appear outside of SQ/ASQ. 2

Log off and get some sleep! Secondly depends what information you are viewing as there is a lot of misinformation and factually wrong and politically motivated information being portrayed as fact. Hence the mass hysteria (governments still refuse to admit its not as bad as it was first feared) Tracking and tracing can only work if every party has been using the app or signing in at every premises they entered (barely happens at most places) and remembers exactly where they were at all times even if they do then the chances of someone else being in a restaurant without cameras and not being traced is pretty high. 1 1
