Kudos to Bill Barr. That was a sentence I didn't think I would use. Looks like not only has he pushed back on Trump's conspiracy theories but he held back on the story about Hunter Biden's tax issues until after the election as had been the protocol. Give credit where it is due.

IMO Barr saw the writing on the wall weeks ago, and is getting out from under before the roof falls in. Permit me to doubt what he has done recently is out of probity, more like self-preservation.

I did read he don't like being told what to do or being bullied.  He had a rough meeting with Trump this week.  Trump was <deleted> Barr held back the Hunter investigation.  Kudos to Barr for doing this.  Though he's still responsible for enabling the criminal actions of Trump.

Geezer

She's getting hoarse from all the singing. 45 has lost more times than the New York Yankees have won the World Series.

Hilarious.

Two reasons Biden won't be impeached.

He's an honorable man. If explicitly impeachable offenses are revealed he will resign for the good of the country.

Secondly. Kamala Harris!

In what bizarre universe would the party of Mr. Trump hand the presidency to her on a platter.

Since she is very likely to succeed Mr Biden in 2024, if the disciples of Trump go through the next four years attempting to block everything Mr Biden's administration attempts to do, then they could do just that!

US demographics are changing by the day. R's know the only way they can win is through voter suppression (such as how TX pulled every ballot dropbox save for one in a 1.7 million voter county that leans Dem, or how GA closed most polling venues in minority areas, as they are also doing for the runoff) or a total abandonment of democracy in favor of the autocracy evident in texas' silly and tossed out 'lawsuit' whose primary complaint was 'our guy lost'.

The average R has abandoned their oaths to the Constitution and replaced it with a cult and fealty to an individual, not a nation.

The base to which R's cater is simply too ignorant of American ideals to understand what they are supporting. Too deep into the cult.

Sadly, 45 is actively and purposely fomenting violence. His thugs are beating people tonight in DC they think are disloyal to their messiah. Every drop of blood is on 45's hands and the hands of his elected and cowardly enablers in the House.

45 supporter and popular amongst the red hats is a guy named Nick Fuentes who is actively calling for the MAGA gang to destroy the GOP. I did NOT have THAT one on my Bingo card!

Let's see where fortune leads [Trump].  Prison, exile, madhouse, assisted-living facility, . . ..  Barring those perhaps a deal with an existing tinfoilhat news outlet or starting his own.  He could take Hannity with him.

I think that is a TV station for sale at the far end of Nakhon Nowhere which might suit him as he seems to get on well with dictators.

I'd be tempted to foment some wild cognitive dissonance by suggesting Fuentes is a "Deep State Plant", (or potted plant might be more appropriate for a maga), but I'd like them to boycott the GA runoff so Dems take the Senate.

My idea was to suggest candidate Ossoff was just chosen to confuse the magas about Runoff. One never knows how low brow still fools a maga.

No.

And the fact that he can't fire them must be really doing his wee head in.

I understand the technicality of how a president can declassify anything he or she deems fit, but if this is true, then some checks need to be put in place to stop such treasonous acts:

There is coverage of trump's prior claims he will declassify content, through it seems he would run into a great deal of trouble if he did so unilaterally.

Regards trump's latest tweet on the matter...

"Will he ever stop whining like a grade schooler and accept defeat?" questioned many. There were several who predicted meltdowns to continue as President-elect Joe Bien inches closer to Presidency and Trump's long list of enemies keeps increasing. From attorney general William Barr to GOP governors Brian Kemp and Doug Ducey. It's a closure for sure, but not the one befitting of a President of The United States.

Go for what? You want a civil war because you lost an election. That would be treason and punishable by death.

Here's what Trump's words cause.  Pain, injury and death.  He should be jailed for what he's doing.

The scuffles seemed poised to continue late into the night, as the black-and-yellow-clad Proud Boys knocked back beers, whiskey and White Claws. Some stole a Black Lives Matter banner, paraded it down M Street NW, then stomped on it.

Whoa now, are you hinting at the possibility of a red hat - redshirt alliance?

Say what you will about the exiled former PM, he had what it takes to make his own fortune.  He'll eat DT's lunch and impregnate his wife. Maybe even beat him at golf.

Too bad Charley Pride didn't endorse BLM before he died.

I’m sorry but I don’t think he deserves any credit. It’s the equivalent of a serial killer, after killing 20 people letting the cops know where the bodies are buried for the sole purpose of not going to the chair.
This man has systematically and willfully enabled Trump to undermine the rule of law, has got him off his impeachment (remember all the redactions) and flaunt the constitution.
He deserves to be banned from practicing law ever again.

You could be right. He has done some appalling things. Had he dropped the news though about the Hunter Biden tax probe a week before the election it could have been Clinton emails 2 and a different president.  He could have probably got away with it. Even if his motives had been self serving he did the fair thing.

Lawmakers Who Backed Texas Lawsuit Should Be Barred From House: NJ Congressman

"Pascrell accused the House members who signed an amicus brief supporting the action — including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) — of violating the Constitution by seeking to nullify Americans’ votes and instead choose a “dictator,” citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, enacted after the Civil War and designed to keep traitors out of government.

The “text of the 14th Amendment expressly forbids Members of Congress from engaging in rebellion against the United States,” he tweeted. “Trying to overturn a democratic election and install a dictator seems like a pretty clear example of that.”"

Amen. These persons are traitors just like trump.

A Republican senator, Nebraska's Ben Sasse, delivered a stinging summary of the court's rebuke to Trump and his allies. Sasse said "every American who cares about the rule of law should take comfort that the Supreme Court — including all three of President Trump’s picks — closed the book on the nonsense.”

His next nomination for candidate for office could be tricky

Hope he feels proud though of addressing the elephant directly
