New 120km/h speed limit will not apply in Phuket

From what I see nobody observes any speed limit anywhere here. Gotta go as fast as they can and get in front no matter how dangerous or high speed.

I have seen speed traps where the guy with the laser sits in the centre reserve and radios ahead to a checkpoint up the road (I also got caught by one of those about 15 years ago and IIRC it cost me 200 Baht). I also know someone who got a ticket in the mail.

Questions:

1) What is the actual speeding ticket fine today?

2) Is the fine higher the faster you go?

3) Is there a certain speed where they take you to court or you lose your licence?

If fine not graded and no licence revocation then it's easy to see why so many just take chances and accept it as a tax (or bin the tickets).

This is a great idea. As one can see, when out on the highways, people are going to drive whatever speed they want anyway. This just reduces the number of those ridiculous mailed tickets, that I keep

Was that a legal ticket at the roadside?
